This is a serious decision…
Gladius is designed to work with an enormous shield. The katana wasn't used with a shield. Also note that the gladius is more stabby than cutty. Since modern swords are mostly used against their arch-enemy, water bottles (a mostly cutting target), this means they will be mostly used (if ever) for their secondary use.
I haven't priced swords at all (years back I kinda did), but I strongly suspect this is pretty bad deal. But it is far easier to get ripped off with a kanata wall hanger.
