Private Equity purchased Weber in 2022 and ever since then the quality and features have plummeted on this series of grill. They used to be fully enclosed, have a built in tank weight gauge, stainless steel side shelves and an igniter that was battery powered. Odd they don't dare show the back of the grill in their promos. It's a see though mess.

I got the spirit with the extra searing burners and I still kind of hate it. It's almost the same uneven heat distribution as my $98 char broil. You'll never get sear; barely a char unless you're meat is dripping causing a grease fire and then you're basically just searing from the grease fire all in all imho not worth $500

Did you put that in a Weber?

I'm looking to upgrade my cheap Char-Broil 4 burner. Is this one worth it or should I step up to the Genesis Line?

Do you know if free assembly is included at Costco, as it is for Lowe's and Home Depot?

The Genesis grills went down hill too. Was looking for one for my mom at Lowes and the new models are on par with Masterbuilt now. They're like embarrassingly bad for the prices they're charging. I'm pretty sure my 2016 Genesis II 435 would survive a nuclear holocaust.

Same exact experience. I will never buy another Weber ever. Total garbage

Would it be worth it to spend a little more for a Napoleon grill instead of the new Webers now or try to find an older model used?

If you're going Weber, I'd definitely go pre-2020 used. I don't have any familiarity with Napoleon.

Home Depot often does clearance deals at the end of the season for ridiculously low prices, but they're not advertised except as in-store promotions, especially for redesigned models or manager's specials. Often the employees are clueless about the deals. I bought this model for sub $200 at a Home Depot in Sacramento a few years back that I think was mentioned on Slickdeals or Brickseek. They didn't even show up as on sale on the floor, but I had an employee do a price scan and it showed the discounted price. I was laughing as checking out because the service desk was buzzing about it and I think the employees were conspiring to purchase a few themselves.

A new two burner Spirit, from a few years back.
