I'm a pc guy but given your use I would think the neo would last you longer than the dell that is several years old already

Depends on your "school" needs. This, if you plan to do any Steam gaming/audio/video processing, but the battery life might be unexistent.
Neo, if you need battery longevity and very light loads.

I bit on this deal
the good: I got it within a couple of days
The bad: it had several dead pixels, well technically, white pixels. And the really bad the keyboard and trackpad doesn't work lol
Are we surprised? Newegg!
I'll be returning it Monday when they get back into the office

/s What's the issue? That's definitely what Newegg considers Good condition refurb. If it had been Fair condition, you'd just got a sock full of batteries.

Neo, no question, at $500 or $600 with 500GB and touch id. Not even close, if you have the bucks. If you don't, then there's no question which is better. Smilie
Neo runs many games fine, if you're OK with lowest settings and 30fps. There are all kinds of reviews with details, so a quick google will you get all you need. Given the Dell has just Intel CPU graphics, I suspect the Mac will game quite a bit better than the Dell, if you stick with Mac games, which are very limited. https://www.reddit.com/r/macgamin...at_on_mac/ shows an example released today.
