Thanks so much! Been waiting for a washer and gas dryer combo under $1k with install for ages to replace a 15+ year old set. BestBuy is over $2k installed for comparison in my area.

I would suggest staying away from whirlpool. I got similar model combo, got issues twice in 2yrs. Costco warranty is 2yrs and requires some debugging with them on call. If not resolved, then they go ahead and create a request with Whirlpool. Whirlpool sends a third party for repairing.

Maybe spend $200 more and get a samsung

In general Samsung is considered junk in appliances, may be LG or GE

Consumer reports has this set as a mid tier set. At the $900 price for a set, hard to beat.

Get a speed queen and be done. Easy to service and built well.

Thanks OP! I'm finally replacing my 25 year old set. I've been replacing parts yearly until I found a good deal. This is it -- 50 percent off the actual price in stores. Repairs look a little trickier, bit still doable.

I currently have basic kenmore from 20 years ago literally pop back off and can replace evrything trivial. When you say this set is 'little trickier' whats that benchmarked against? Smilie. Would love newer set but yeah gather anything newer than 15 years is godawful for that…..
