I've never owned one from this brand but Crown Shades is definitely a top tier canopy brand.
If you're in the market for one this is a killer price, definitely go for it, no need to read any further but I'll give some more thoughts to anyone interested.
Straight leg canopies like this are 100 times better than slant leg canopies. This one also has the center push up thing. That's males it very easy to set up with one person. Just take it out of the bag and spread it open a few feet, Crawl underneath and push that center up and it's spread out and locked. After that extend the legs.. Much easier than any other method. Also this type of frame has a taller peak which sheds water very well. The slant leg ones often bathtub which will kill them because water is heavy.
This is only $100 and from an upper tier brand with the best type of frame design so no points docked here but these are the low points when compared to the rest of the market:
210d fabric is on the better end of the lower tier consumer grade stuff. 150-210 is consumer grade stuff. I've mostly had this grade as I didn't realize other grades even existed. I'd usually get a year or so from a straight leg in this category (I don't buy slant leg, they're too bad at shedding water and too annoying to work around. This entry level tier is perfect to use for a few summer parties or a dry workspace for a few weeks a year but UV exposure ruins the fabric so if it's going to remain up for months at a time you need the mid tier of fabrics at least.
300 to 420 is the mid tier stuff. This is much thicker and can take much more abuse. This is a good choice for people like me. The frames are usually more robust as well and can take being set up and taken down a lot and be pushed around in the wind etc.
The upper tier stuff is like 500 to 600d. This is commercial level stuff. $600 and above usually and can be up for years in the sun.
This is a good deal. I will mention too I am very happy with my current canopy which is from Vevor which is an import company that sell rebranded mid and lower tier tools and other things.
They have a 500d 10x10 for $140 or so and a similar one with thinner fabric (no diner rating they use a different fabric weight metric, I think it's 240g) but with a PVC coating instead of what you typically see which is polyurethane.
The PVC coating is very thick and better with UV.
Both of those options are the same price and have very robust frames.
Personally I really like the Vevor ones but Crown shades is a great brand and $100 for this is a killer deal.
The most important thing for a strong frame is to find one with a center post, not the pyramid style.
If you want to spend a bit more but go way up in quality, ABC Canopy is a great place to start. Also Eurmax. - Both of these brands are well regarded for trade shows people. They set up and take down a lot and the tradeshow people like them souch because the frames can take that abuse.
Both of these companies you can spend a tone of money for their higher end aluminum frame ones but the cheapest model for both are WAY better than everything else on the market. - both about $200 or a bit less. Currently the ABC Canopy one is on sale for $160.
The canopy is important too and the Eurmax is 500d but the ABC is 300d.
You can spend more with both and get really nice frames.
But there's also the VEVOR one I mentioned, it's surprisingly good for only $140.
One thing I learned from all of this Canopy stuff is that shitty brands from home Depot or random Amazon brands or whatever - They're just trying to look like real canopies, they're junk they fall apart after just a few uses or a really heavy rain or a light wind. It's so worth the money because they're so much more durable and nicer to use.
