All of that being said, I have used the manual push 80v model for about 5-6 years now and it is still trucking. The 5 Ah battery it came with died several years ago and I couldn't revive it. My only saving grace was the fact that I had other 80v tools and some spare low Ah batteries I had picked up for cheap while I worked at Lowe's. My personal opinion is that if you don't have any other 80v batteries, DO NOT invest in this tool. You have to go all in with Kobalt/Greenworks (same parent company so you can mod the batteries to be universal) yard tools to have enough of what you need when a big yard day arrives but never just get a single tool/battery combo of any brand. It will just leave you frustrated.
Personally, I think you would be better off getting the $300 deal for the older model with the 5Ah battery and a different 80v tool/battery combo to supplement it than to get this but I also haven't used this model. There is an 80v trimmer/battery combo posted for $150 if you can find it. That gives you two batteries and two tools for $450.
Does this model have any benefits over previous gen models? Power has always been an issue with my mower but the trade-off to avoid gas and oil were just too convenient to ever make the switch back. I would be interested to know if anything actually improved or did they just redesign the look
