For a few days earlier this week, this $129 set also came with a free universal addon that you could pick, I grabbed it with the hedge trimmer attachment, and I'll be on the lookout for a deal like that with the 48v blower.

The new Kobalt 24v batteries are USB-C-chargeable, as well as able to use the old charges. And this kit came with an adapter to stick on the old batteries to give two-way USB-C charging capability too. Nice way to maintain an investment in the 24v Kobalt line.

As of yesterday, my Lowes still has the free add-on with trimmer purchase. Sign was still up in the aisle and an employee scanned it and told me the four options I could choose from, so I assume it was still valid.

I was there buying the stronger version of the leaf blower for $129 with two 4aH USB-C batteries. Thought about the trimmer too, but I've got a gas powered one that's doing just fine.

Bought this yesterday, tried it out today. I love the new USB C charging system. You can plug the two batteries directly into the USB C phone type wall charger. They also give you a single USB C to older 24V battery charger adapter. It uses 0.095 thickness cutting line, better than the thinner stuff on the cheaper 24V unit. Has a high and a low speed, cut through some thick grass and kind of thick scrub weeds very well. Didn't really get a chance to use bumpfeed more than once, but seemed fine. I would spend up and get this for the charging system, thicker line, and better power over the single 24V system.

I also have a few tools in the Worx 20V stackable system. I'm glad to see my other set of Kobalt tools adopt stackable voltages rather than continue to make us get 40V an 80V batteries.

Used my discover card 5% "home improvement" quarterly category, and a 4X fuel points Kroger fuel points Lowes card to pay.

Anyone want a free 20% off coupon to use with this or any other lowe's product up to $100 in savings? You need to use a Lowe's credit card with it or it doesn't work, but it's yours if you want. First come, first serve. It's only good for one purchase, so be quick if you want it.

On a related note, I picked up the craftsman whacker and imagine my surprise to see a tiny little charger. It's quite a bit slower charging than the full size charger. Just putting that out there

I keep seeing deals on 24v, 48x, 80v. Over the winter I got the deal with the self powered mower and trimmer on a super sale at 80% off. I presume all of these types of trimmers cannot interchange batteries. Never knew the same brand and the type of product can have different batteries.

Recent 48v is actually placing two 24v batteries in the tool. Speaking only for myself, I don't buy outside the 24v battery line.

Why is that? The new 40v lawnmower I got recently was my first kobalt product. Why is 24v 'good' or 'better' in your eyes?

I have a reliable gas weedeater (Hyper Tough) that is a beast that I bought from Walmart for $57- years ago. But I wanted a back up that wasn't too noisy or require fuel/oil. Bought this weedeater last week for $103 (had Lowe's reward money). I was not disappointed. I had it set to level one and it tore through weeds with ease. No loud noise and no more shaking hands. This weedeater is a beast like my Hyper Tough. It was quiet and light to carry around. I didn't test the length of the battery since I used both weedeaters. But it was still fully charged. This weedeater was up to par with my gas weedeater and I do recommend it.

I have twenty 24v batteries, and am not going to invest in another battery line. If I had started buying 40v tools I'd likely continue to buy 40v tools so I'd have compatible batteries across them.

Until April 22nd, the price was $179.xx with a "free" universal connect attachment. I bought it in store and it "adjusted" prices end up being $129.xx for the trimmer and $59.xx for the "free" attachment.
