Man wish this wasn't so expensive. I'm just not sure i would like back lighting with an OLED tv. Seems like it would defeat the purpose. But i guess its all preference. I'm pretty deep into the hue system but this is too pricey to end up not liking it lol.

I have an LG OLED and have wanted one of these for awhile but I didn't like the refresh rate of the original model. I considered the new one but decided the price is outrageous.

I ended up subscribing to their Hue sync TV app. [philips-hue.com] It works just like the sync box. Based on what I've read from users who have tried both products, the sync box may have slightly better latency but the difference is not really all that noticeable. It's only $3 a month but works on multiple TV's (As long as the TV supports it, not all TV's do)

That's the way I'd recommend people go if they are interested in this kind of thing.

I've been wanting to get hue stuff for the longest time. Now i'm in the position to buy it i see that they have an updated product line. Is this their newest hub and sync box?

Which LG OLED tv do you have? I have the C1 although just that as my TV. I see the sync box by itself is on sale for 270. So for $3 a month, it'll take about 7.5 years for the device to match the monthly subscription (assuming they don't raise the price)

That's the catch. I have a c4 and c1. And I think you need at least a c4 to use the sync app with your TV. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I looked at these and eventually decided to just get white bias lighting. Seemed to be the reccomendation for home theater.
So far I like it. It's not a huge difference or anything but it definitely helps keep your eyes adjusted to some light so you're not blinded when switching to a bright scene from a very dark one.
Medialight is what I got. It's pretty cheap and has works great.

For those wondering, the Govee alternative is stellar.

This is the newest sync box with their regular, non-Pro hub. The newer Pro hub is only necessary if you've got a lot (150+) lights, or if you have lights that support the motion-aware features.

The price makes this a tough buy. I went with HyperHDR for much less. I suspect the people who shop for this type of product are into tinkering.

I've been wanting this for a long time but can't commit to this price. I got a bunch of govee lights and it's sync box for less than this. I'm satisfied

Absolutely. There is a reason why Hue is getting kicked out of every big box store.

Not interested in the sync box, but I got some Hue bulbs on this sale at a solid price price.
