You don't need the email to unlock. They will auto-unlock when ready BUT sometimes the phone doesn't get the unlock signal. Try restarting the phone a couple times and turn off/on the SIM. Worst case contact their unlocking dept (there's a separate #) and they can resend the unlock signal, but even then sometimes it take a few days for it to auto-unlock.
1. "got the phone activated, but none of the Promo was recognized. Spent an hour with Marco, Tracfone chat, & he said nothing could be done as Amazon was not an authorized Tracfone dealer. Spent 2 hrs. on telephone with a Tracfone Service Rep. who would not honor the Promo package that came with the phone. I was trying to find how long one can wait before activating. Doing a general search, I can only find results from over 2 years ago, and they vary, with some saying you must activate within 60 days to get the promo minutes/texts, another saying you had 6 months, and another saying 1 year from purchase.
Given that uncertainty and the reviews above, I'm not buying.
Can't speak for this deal but in the past I've waited more than 2 years to activate one of these year long plan and phone activated fine. Every time I asked CS if there's a time period to activate the phone they've said no. I think the 60 days is just people repeating what they heard and not actual experience.
Mine was in excellent condition also. I can't even tell if it's ever been used. Much better than expected. YMMV.

The 2024 G Power only gets security updates for 1 more year and then you're running an insecure device.
The A16 will get 6 years of updates.
That said the memory difference is massive. If this A16 had 6GB of RAM it'd be more tolerable.
If I were just getting the device for a kid I would get the G Power 2024 as they'll want the faster device for games and stuff. If for myself as a backup decice, the A16 for the software support for online banking security.
