Would never buy it but of course I just got my free slice.
The ONLY ONLY ONLY way a sodastream makes sense is to use a 20 lb. tank. Look on Marketplace for a used one and get it filled. One you own the tank the exchanges are cheap.
I found aluminum tanks for $20 and my place doesn't charge me for hydro tests. A hose is around $30 on AZ. Once you get past the initial investment the savings are huge for DIY seltzer water. The syrups from sodastream are also a waste of money.

I bought a 20lb tank in 2022, and its just running out of gas now after heavy use. $40 to refill the big tank, $20 for the 10lb, not sure about the 5lb.
Apparently the new bottles are more trouble since they don't have the built in measuring lines

This is similar to the one I bought. I have the screw on Soda Stream tanks.
