Make sure to double check the length of the track. Less expensive ones are shorter.Regarding rowing, it is one of the best full-body workouts you can do. I was on my college crew team. I own a Concept2 erg since 2014, which was $900+. Having a rowing machine at home is the perfect all-in-one-workout for cardio & strength (shoulders, back, abs, arms, legs). All without any impact on knees, such as running. The mere fact you will be active is what counts. Row 2000-3000 meters a day, cut out bread, rice, sugar, dairy, and you'll see great results within 30 days.
If I cut out bread, rice, sugar, and dairy, I'd rather be dead....😁

Got mine today. Box measurements are spot-on. Much smaller box than I thought it would be for gym equipment.
I'm not ready to open mine yet, but it feels very solid and packed, doubtful you'll be able to shave more than 1-2 linear inches off
Thanks! Much appreciated.

It's funny. I never felt like the rowing machine was building upper body. I stopped rowing for a few years. Started softball in the meantime. This year I started rowing again, and when softball season started, the ball was absolutely flying off of my bat. Seven games into the season I have the first 3 HR of my life. Mine has adjustable resistance and I use it on the highest setting. So I feel like it's definitely adding strength on top of the cardio.
It helped my golf game.

Rowing is second to running when it comes to cardio. Rowing beats running because you don't lose muscle mass doing it.

That is terrible dietary advise. You can't one size fits all people to some fad dieting you've heard. Use myfitnesspal, set goals and learn to read nutrition labels. You don't have to worry about eliminating foods other than junk food with no nutritional value. Rice and bread are great sources of carbs for energy and Dairy is one of the best complete protein sources.

I'm only 6 feet tall but some people are saying the track is too short. Anyone have experience with that?

Also comparing this model.

I have been using a similar priced rowing machine since COVID. The screen is out of battery but I don't use it anyway -- i do it when I need to watch a soccer or hockey game and I use my watch to track. Other than that, it works like day 1. I use it twice per week.
I used to use Concept 2 at GYM. I know it is better, but why pay the premium for a GYM level machine if you are the only user. If I get tired of it, just throw it. Saved money when you purchased it and will save effort when you abandon it.
