It's the business parts of a drill press stuck to a big electromagnet. Stick it to big metal thing, turn on drill, drill hole in metal thing.

If I had any use for this, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Mag drills are very expensive.

I'm a hobbyist welder and metal worker. Never even knew this existed. I have an upright metal drill press but you can't get farm equipment into the drill press. This looks like one of those tools that I may use 3x a year but it will be work every penny every time

Cool Tool
Reminds me of the core drills that used suction from a vacuum pump to stick in place. No real need for it and in any event, no room for anymore tools.

I got one last year and used it the first week to adjust frame layout on a flail mower(haven't used it since but nice to have for when I need it). I think it came with two bits, one just happened to be the size I needed.

Two issues with this one,
1. when I was shopping I came to the conclusion that variable speed was important, this looks single speed
2. doesn't seem to come with bits, those can be expensive

One other note, as a hobbyist the magnetic latch does take some getting used to, the picture showing use overhead has me thinking I would manage to drop the very heavy tool on my head and knock myself out
