Anyone have thoughts on these as they compare to the M12 Fuel (obviously bigger/heavier but are they more powerful? Is the build quality cheaper?) and how much is inferior are they to the M18 fuel?

I'm in Makita for carpentry related items but tend to bring Milwaukee to work for HVAC service and installs

Accordingly to YouTube, there is no reason to go for M12 fuel version, if you already have m18 batteries, the m18 compact kit performs better than the m12 fuel.

And about size, what is bigger is the battery. Appart from that they have almost the same size.

I love these two tools, but I bought them with two 5.0 batteries for about $100 using a hack over a year ago. I think they are pretty similar in size to the m12 fuel actually, but the drill does not have a hammer function (so I ended up buying the m18 fuel drill with hammer function recently). I don't have the m12 fuel so I can't comment on power.

Bought the m12 fuel to do stuff around the house a few years ago, recently attempted to put together an 8x12 shed using them and they felt very under powered. Went out and got the m18 soon after. They're fine for light house stuff.

M12 fuel get everyday job done. They are light on hands so if you have arthritis, it helps. When you drill alot it will get it done. M12 will struggle a bit with holesaw. Forget concrete. For that you need M18 Fuel.
