The plastic cases aren't the same, have to mod the batteries. Not very hard but not compatible out of the box. There's some video guides.

The pin-outs and electrical are the same, but the grooves on the batteries and tools are different. You have to do some grinding or diy groove cutting depending on which interface (battery or tool) you're trying to modify.

Ohhh that's still not a bad deal considering costcos amazing return policy. Yeah I've been looking for mowers and have a small front yard, but either deal does look enticing

Well let's see, $20 more and you get two tools with this deal, although Costco deal gives extra battery. Model numbers are the same but Costco version has "sa1" at the end. Probably made exclusively for them.
