Just be aware like the comment above mine. I bought several bottles and they had close expiration dates.
I feel pretty comfortable using some things past expiration dates because it doesnt mean it is bad, but that is just following certain guidelines.

Im not giving advice to people to eat expired things, but the amount of people that freak out about it is pretty weird.

For example I was told by someone they swore they ate expired yogurt and they felt like their were sick/getting sick.

For anyone thats ever had bad yogurt... youll know that you would never eat it.

First you would see mold or that it is very different looking. Second, you can smell it.
Third, if you still took a bite, it would taste disgusting and you would spit it out immediately.

If you still ate it after that, well id say you have more things to worry about than expired stuff.

Like any product taste is subjective. Here in the Midwest Hellman's / best foods is the go-to brand. In the South Duke's typically rules as it has a little more tang.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank freakingwilly

Check the expiration date. Price history shows that this usually sells around $18, so seeing such a huge discount on it usually indicates it's close to it's expiration date.

Agreed, Amazon likes to send products that are close to the expiry date.

I don't think it's just about safety but ethical business practice. Even if it's edible, it's not ethical for a business to sell a product near or past its expiration date, unless they make that clear. That's what local retail stores do. They place clearance tags and reduce price accordingly so that customers can make an informed decision to make their purchase. With Amazon, they disguise them like a normal sale and then ship clearance items to customers. Customers have every right to be upset, and they should definitely hold Amazon accountable. Target is even worse though. I've received food items that were 2 years past expiration from them multiple times.

Hey look, I wasn't condoning business selling expired products.
They follow FDA guidelines, which are strict.
My only reason for bringing this up is that expired food products are almost always good after their expiration date and if it isnt you can be sure that you can tell it is bad. ( by looks, smell and taste)

Like I said, im not saying I think expired things should be sold.
My examples were people overreacting to expired products, which is mostly people buying products that are not expired and have them expire after they bought them.

I like it a bit more than hellmann's. I usually have a bottle of duke's and a bottle of kewpie (japanese version that comes in unmarked bottle and has MSG) for different applications.

Moved away from seed oil based mayo, mainly buy Primal now...its expensive, but you know, doesn't have any hexane in it.
