I bought this Dec 1 last year and mine came brand new. It was missing the shrink wrap but didn't look like it was ever opened beyond that. I paired it with my iPad mini and everything checked out with Apple.

Would not recommend buying these used, these have serious battery issues

If you leave it uncharged for a few weeks, dramatically reduced battery capacity

That would be true of all new Apple Pro Pencils as well, on the plausible assumption that many are sold weeks or months after being stocked.

Anyway I bought one for a little more a few weeks ago and it's been great.
