I'm very new to solar. If I wanted a basic setup to power a few branch circuits in my house, would I just need this and some solar panels? Any particular type required?

And to wire it - connect a new 240V breaker from my panel to this, then route the few existing branch circuits I want from my panel to this (instead of through the panel's breakers)?

You need a way to either/and coexist with grid power and switch to battery

So the way you'd have to do it would be to wire the new 2 pole breaker to the input of this inverter, then from the output of the inverter into a new sub panel where you relocate the branch circuits you want to backup.

The issue I've run into with these eco-worthy inverters is that I'm in a state on NEC 2023 so any solar inverter/batteries now need UL 9540 to pass inspection, which eco-worthy has been dangling for their previous 5kw and 10kw inverters with their v3 rack mount batteries for about a year now. UL 9540 actually requires that the batteries and the inverter are tested together, so it's a bit of a pita. You might have an inspector that'll let you slide on the previous UL 1741 for the inverter and UL 1973 for batteries (which I'm not sure these have), but that's a crap shoot.

I mean, you could just do it without inspection, but understand that your fire policy on your home insurance may not be worth anything at that point...

I highly doubt it. I don't see it anywhere.

Even their previous models that they've said were submitted for testing almost a year ago don't have any documentation for UL 9540, though they are now writing 9540 on their own website...though the only download they show for the battery is the 9540a, which is not the same thing.

I'm pretty sure these wall mounted ones aren't. Their 48v is 100ah server rack batteries are though.

Do it off grid. Dont connect it to your house grid panel. Thats the most important part since these aren't UL.

So, knowing next to nothing, if I'm not going grid tie, but do want to pass inspection, is this gonna get there, or is UL9540 a deal breaker? I am thinking about running the pool pump (1.5hp variable speed) + a EV charger (which runs average 20miles a day so not a huge demand to fast charge) and just abandon the grid for the setup.
TYIA!

In my experience manufacturers are not shy about announcing it when they're selling a low-frequency inverter, so I think this one must be high-frequency. It appears to be this model: https://www.eco-worthy.com/produc...v-pv-input
