Castle on ABC

Anyone else watch this?

Unfortunately I missed last week's episode, so last night's didn't quite explain itself and left me lost for a little bit. It was still pretty good though.

I haven't seen many episodes (only started watching about a month ago) but I think it's a pretty good show.

It's sorta like NCIS, without the Navy: pretty bizarre murders that take a somewhat predictable turn and then magically get solved before the episode ends.

How did you like it? It rocked as usual! Wink

The murderer (the dead swimmer's role model) looked familiar. What movie have I seen him from? Confused

Misery loves company. Wink

I wish all networks ran TV shows like FOX ran "24". Every week, a new episode, no exceptions, until season's end. Cool

lol, I'm always uber confused when people complain about waiting for the next episode of any show. You get 22-24 episodes for most shows. No matter how they split them up, go on hiatus, make you wait a few weeks, whatever, you get those 24 episodes. You don't miss any! I actually like when one show skips a week or two because then I get to see other shows in that timeslot. Like next week I'll just watch Hawaii 5-0 instead of DVRing it. What I really hate is when they all go on hiatus at once. It's predictable over the holidays but in March/April it sucks.

I prefer 22-24 shows in a row and then wait ~30 weeks until the next season. Maybe '24" spoiled me. I don't have interest in watching other shows in that time slot, but I may BT "HI 50" during the summer to see if it's a good show. In general, if it's not in my DVR and if it's not a live sport show, then I don't watch it. shake head

The thing with 24 is that while they did that, they also had another show in the Fall in the timeslot. So they didn't waste 16 weeks in a row of the 40 week tv season with reruns. I'd be fine with that model too, but it means every network has to produce twice as many shows for every single timeslot. That's not cheap. We saw it with a handful of shows like 24 and Lost, but for the most part most shows are full season with reruns and/or specials or preemptings mixed in.

If you really think you want to wait 30 weeks between seasons, try watching some cable shows. Waiting for Entourage or The Sopranos was excruciating. The USA shows were tough too, but at least now they try to split them a little (like 9 in the summer, 7 in winter) and air a ton of reruns though not in a set timeslot.

PS- serials like 24 and Lost also have extremely limited value as reruns, which is another reason for that model. Nobody wanted to watch a random episode of a show like that. The lone exception with Lost were the special recap episodes and the Richard Alpert backstory, which didn't fit into the Lost timeline anyway. Castle doesn't follow such a strict timeline, people will still watch reruns.

Yes, "Lost" was another example I was thinking of, at least for its last couple seasons. ABC sometimes shows reruns of "Castle" and sometimes other shows. "Chuck" is another show that does that. Maybe ABC can put in a filler and cheap-to-produce reality TV show for the other half of the year.

Again, I'm just talking strictly as a TV viewer. I don't produce TV shows so I can't speak from that end. I don't have cable. Since "Castle" (and "Chuck") aren't really serialized (at least not "Castle" - "Chuck" is somewhat), I agree they'd have more rerun value.

They USED to do that with Chuck but this season it's been a full season show. It's just that NBC seems to have quite a few fledgling shows on hiatus and when it's rerun season for Chuck, we seem to get some of the other shows instead. There have been a few weeks with Chuck reruns though, which there were almost zero of for 24 and Lost.

I noticed that just a few weeks ago, "Chuck" showed a rerun from Season 3! EEK!

I started watching "Chuck" on TV from Season 3. I watched the 1st 2 seasons via BT/DVD.

New "Castle" was finally back. I know wiley enjoyed seeing Beckett in a bathing suit almost as much as I. Wink

Cool cameo for Gene Simmons. And it was good to see Dominic Purcell (from "Prison Break") again.

That was quite a sight. I too liked the appearance of Gene Simmons, and Dominick Purcell. DB Sweeney as well was in this episode.
I thought the actors playing Ryan and Esposito were a riot. Especially when they did that crazy handshake, rightafter they had cut from the real Ryan and Esposito doing a (less) crazy handshake.
