yup, both have year to unlock, but neither one is worth that wait. Total offers many different carriers though.

For those that picked up one of these earlier and already activated it, they now have an offer to add another one without port-in for $35. The plan price changes to $35 once you start checking out.
Nice, I appreciate this post. I'll go add another one 'cause why not for $35.

1 year of service is not required on Metro, only 1 month but you still need to wait a year for it to unlock

Why are people looking for a port when this deal works fine with a new number?
Right. Its telling me I can get the Moto G phone(no stylus) for free on the $40 web special plan.

I just activated my 1st line about 30 mins ago and immediately tried to add a 2nd line.

I'm trying to get the Moto G Stylus 2025 (new number) which is supposed to be a $0 freebie, but the system automatically forces the plan to $30 and jacks the phone price up to $109.99 (due today $139 total).

I also tested adding the Moto Edge 2025 with a GV port-in, same glitch—it forces the $30 plan and drops the phone discount, showing $99.99 for the device.

Is this because my 1st line is too new and hasn't settled in the system yet?

I think one of the reasons folks like the stylus version is that it has 8gb ram while the Moto g only has 4gb. That might slow the phone down depending on the demands you put on it.

if you have the 55 plan, you can try to upgrade to 65 one and then buy the device.

Anyone encountered the issue of unableness of activation? My order was delivered more than a week ago, however I could track my device (still shown the "Estimated delivery" date) but couldn't use the "Activate" button to activate it(clicked but then became gray and showed errors and asked me to try again or call). So I called 1-888-8-METRO8 and if I chose the option of activation of new phone or something similar during the call, the call got into a cycle and couldn't summon any real man service. Then I tried to email the Metro Care and Metro Sales Support and they offered no real help other than large paragraphs of template replies. Anyone knows what I should do next? Can local Metro stores help? Thanks.

Yeah that "365" days before unlocking isn't gonna fly for most ppl here. Here's a.... well, not better, but DIFFERENT option:source: https://thedroidguy.com/how-to-un...ne-1097252"Exceptions for Early UnlockingIf the device has been activated for less than 365 days, the following conditions apply:
  • The account associated with the device must have had over $100 in refills during that period for each line active on the account.
  • The device must have been active on the network for more than 14 days since purchase."
Oh the fine print...

They are trying to save their old number, instead of getting new one, to avoid informing all old and new contacts on number changes.
