Yeah that "365" days before unlocking isn't gonna fly for most ppl here.

Here's a.... well, not better, but DIFFERENT option:

source: https://thedroidguy.com/how-to-un...ne-1097252
"Exceptions for Early Unlocking
If the device has been activated for less than 365 days, the following conditions apply:
  • The account associated with the device must have had over $100 in refills during that period for each line active on the account.
  • The device must have been active on the network for more than 14 days since purchase."

it's probably both conditions which need to be met, right?
it's kind of nice but it makes the phone cost $165 at the very least.

I DID specify different, not better.

I went with the $27 "Motorola - moto g power 2024 5G 128GB (Unlocked) - Midnight Blue" option from Best Buy. It's extremely easy to get the price by canceling the VZW service.

You just have to cancel within 3 days and verify the cancel 2-3 times in that 3 days because they're TRAINED to not verify the cancel, let it bill out to 30 days and let it go to collections, which nets VZW millions a year. But I have no problem making them check their work, I've been a project manager for years, making ppl check their work is like 90% of my job 😂

Oh and it's best to use the pickup in store option. I did get the ship to home option to work for the OnePlus N30 from BBY 2 yrs ago, but the cancel was a bit more time consuming.

Google Voice for $3. I've seen ppl try free options, but I've never been able to get it to work and dont know any by heart.

I read somewhere that you could get a Google voice number and "port" that in. Then foward that new number to you phone. I've never tried it so idk how well that works.

I did it for the $35 Total Wireless Moto Razr 2025 at launch. Worked fine, they said Google ports take a week vs 3-5 days for reg carriers, but it didnt cause an issue for me.
The SD deal was for $165, but I stacked a $90 rebate from Capital One.

Wait, as per source. Are you saying I can unlock my metro by mobile phone before 365 days? I have an active line with Metro I'm about 2 month with them and I paid over $100.

if it's $100 total in refills, yeah.

Also, I've tested this and I'd like to throw it out there that moving between subsets of MVNOs works without unlocking. DIdint used to, but a few years ago it did. Like, if you have metro but want to switch to idk, Family plan by walmart, as long as it's the T-mobile service subset, works fine. You usually need to get a new sim, but it's a negligible cost, e-sims are free.

I don't know if slick deal allows me to add another slick on top of this deal. Top.Cash.Back gives $25 for new customer.

Why are people looking for a port when this deal works fine with a new number?

Nice. I kinda accepted the fact by sighing with Metro for a year to get a free phone. I'll try to jump back to US Mobile for 25 dollar plan. Metro by the way was kind enough to give me Vip 48 dollar plan instead of $60 with the free phone. But I don't need Prime.
