16" tool only is usually $159 on sale. This makes the 4Ah battery + bag $90. If you're new to the 40v system, this is a decent price (not slick). If you already have 40v system, this may be more of a pass. The chainsaw itself is great, though. I took on a massive hackberry tree last week. Maybe 50-60 cuts, including the 2-foot truck. 4Ah battery handled it fine (though it was out by the end). Loved it. Chainsaw leaks oil like crazy when stored, though, so only fill what you'll need.

$239 without the bag? https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI...-n/a-_-n/a

Probably will do the Ego Lowes deal for $219 - 20% off with new CC purchase. Smaller battery but already in the Ego system and have several bats....

fwiw - The Ryobi chain speed is 14.2 m/s, Ego is 20 m/s

That's good advice. Thanks!

Mine leaks when stored as well. Works great, but does leak oil when put up.

I've been really impressed by their entire 40v line.

Do it right the first time. Ego will be far superior quality and function. Just got a recall on my Ryobi hedge trimmer. They will let you send it back and they send you a lower model as a replacement. Done with Ryobi. Not even close to Ego. When I had an issue ego sent the replacement before I even sent in the problem unit.

Yeah, well, Ego has failed me in the past. Two bats failed just after three year warranty. One bat burned up inside, the other did start working after the "drop from ~18 inch" reset method. Did buy the Ego saw though due to having other ego bats and tools.
