The first people on it most weren't super thrilled. Not the best ship, older and darker. I'd just looking for quiet under the sun likely perfectly fine. Boarding is bumpy until they finish terminal next year.

i'm here for the food! besides the included dinning and buffet, NCL usually has a Snack bar. Their snack bar is unlike Royal or Carnival's snack bars which only serves pizzas and some mediocre sandwiches. NCL's snack bars are a full restaurant, which includes wings and quality burgers and frys and salads and soups, etc. Which are all made fresh to order. Also beer and drinks!!!! After dinner and a show, i usually make my way to the snack bar. Food is free, order all you want, 24/7 usually. Drinks are not free, unless you have the drink package. NCL also offers specialty dinning, which are not bad if it comes with your cruise price, sometimes you have to pay extra for them. Tried their steak house, and Brazilian meat buffet, all wonderful.

Ncl is solid. The food they served was the best I've had on any cruise line

NCL, rated dead last by Consumer Reports... MSC and Carnival weren't much better, Royal Carribean was also listed as below average, all had below average for food quality, NCL and MSC for mid service and overall value. (hint, they sell cheap cruises, but nickel and dime you (more than) others.

Yup, they always have a sale, and usually it's best to use a Travel Agent, they can ALWAYS get the same deals, plus they usually have some special on-board credit or other bonuses.
I highly recommend vacationstogo... they have a great price ticker online, especially for 90 day cruises... which are usually the best deals as the lines are trying to sell those last cabins out. There's others out there also, but any agent can meet/beat any advertised deal.

Well then who is good for families? You just dogged every option that isn't catered toward adults

Yes, the snack bar late-night was a highlight of my NCL cruise

I disagree with PaulD about NCL or RC being bad for families. Took my kids to both and they had lots of fun. I'll add my kids were both under 10 during those trip. Almost all the ships have kids clubs and the water play is enough to entertain them for days. As with most things, I would say it depends on your children and what they find enjoyable.

they're the only option for HI over the summer. Got a balcony for $4.7K/ 4 with my military stack. But fares+hotel+ 1 rm sank the deal. Doing MSC instead. Wish us luck!

Just FYI, for those who are NCL shareholders, don't forget about the shareholder benefits if you have over 100 shares (which is alot lower than carnival and RCCL).

Having experienced Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Royal Caribbean, and Carnival, I've definitely found my favorites. Here is a breakdown of how they compare from my perspective:
The Rankings

1. NCL: Out of the three, NCL takes the top spot. While they tend to "nickel and dime" you for certain extras, the overall quality justifies the cost. I just returned from a trip on the NCL Epic this past Saturday, and the entertainment was phenomenal—the tribute shows for the Eagles, Elton John, and Fleetwood Mac were world-class.

2. Royal Caribbean: Royal Caribbean is a very close second. The overall experience is consistently high-quality, and the food, in particular, is excellent.

3. Carnival, or should I say budget line: Carnival sits at the bottom of my list. As a budget-friendly line, it really is a case of "you get what you pay for."

Why I'm Done with Carnival

The atmosphere on Carnival just doesn't compare to the others. During shows on NCL, the environment was professional and enjoyable. If those same performances were on a Carnival ship, you'd likely deal with people pushing and shoving just to get a seat. After my recent experience with NCL's superior service and entertainment, I don't plan on booking with Carnival ever again.

You need to travel on Celebrity. You won't go back to the others.
