I have an earlier model of this and it is great for the price. I did have to buy a proper charger as the cheap provided charger turned the battery into a spicy pillow, so expect to spend probably another $60-100 on a charger.

No, not a great deal. Parts unavailable, and it's brushed (which is meh nowadays).

Go for a MJX or Hypergo in this price range. Smaller, but more fun.

Confidently incorrect. Motor type has nothing to do with battery type. Fun fact. This comes with 2 LiPo batteries. LiPo is not inherently dangerous. People who refused to learn are.

I bought a different model of this brand. I did come with Kevlar pouches the charge and store the batteries. I'd imagine that would help some

I have two of these (or similar - bought on a different SD deal long time ago, paid around $50-60). These are more fun than the MJX model I got recently. The latter is too fast so you spend most of your time turning or repairing it. This one is big and has plenty of spare parts available.
