Hello all,
First time posting a deal. Best Buy dropped the price of "Fair" condition LG G5 55" TVs down to $738.99 AND they're including a $100 gift card, which makes this around $638.99. This is an incredible deal for one of the best TVs on the planet! Thought some gamers looking for a midsize TV would be happy with this deal! If you have Best Buy Total Membership, you get 2 free years of warranty including burn-in protection (which is a non-issue IMHO).
Enjoy!

This open box LG G5 55 inch OLED deal stands out for a very low price with a $100 gift card, and the panel itself can look excellent when the unit is in good shape. Several pickups came with low hours, clean screens, and usable remotes or wall mounts, and the G5 brightness was praised as a big upgrade. The main risk is condition roulette, with some display units showing 5,000 to 6,000 hours, missing accessories, or visible burn in. Checking hours and powering it on in store is the safest way to judge whether the specific unit is worth the trip.
Common Questions (5)
Around 5,000 to 6,000 hours is a common cutoff for concern, especially on display models that ran at full brightness all day. Units with roughly 1,500 to 2,200 hours have been kept, while 5,850 to 6,202 hours often triggered returns or passes.
Accessories vary by condition: Fair units may be missing the remote, stand, wall mount, or box, while Good units have been reported with the original remote and wall mount sealed in packaging. Some pickups also included a stand, but others arrived with none of those extras.
Pixel cleaning can reduce minor image retention or demo-related splotching, and one unit's red splotches cleared after a cleaning cycle. It does not reliably fix true burn-in, so checking a gray field or burn-in test before cleaning is the safer way to judge the panel.
Yes. Staff can power it on so you can check hours, burn-in, and missing parts before leaving, which helps avoid hauling home a display unit with no remote, stand, or obvious panel damage.
Yes, the deal includes a $100 gift card, and it can arrive by email before you even leave the store. The card was also shown in-cart and as a usable balance, so it is not just a placeholder promo.

After bringing the unit home, I discovered that the unit did not have power cords, a remote, a One Connect box etc., so I had to haul my ass back to Best Buy to return the item. I could not turn on the unit because the One Connect box was missing. I am staying away from Best Buy open box units.
Wasted a couple of hours of my life.
