How well does this perform vs 18v? Usually milwaukee 12v delivers, I know, but SDS demolition??? Could this really be???

From the description:
Delivers up to (73) 1/4in x 2in holes per charge

I think this is much more for setting tapcons than chipping out big hunks of concrete.

I have the dewalt 20v version. It's basically a glorified hammer drill. It replaces a hammer drill and is way nicer to use. That's not a bad thing. I love it. It's nice that this actually has a chipping option unlike the dewalt even tho im sure you can only do very light chipping. In no way does this replace a full size rotary hammer. It's a nice to have tool. I would say it's not for everyone and temper expectations.

These are way better than plain hammerdrills. They do have a hammer mode too so they can be used for chiseling tile and such.

...but yes, these M12s excel more at drilling for tapcons than big diameter anchors. They can do it, but if your main intended use is 1/2"+ anchors or chiseling concrete channels for plumbing or whatever, you should probably go for the M18 or a corded SDS Max.

Completely agree. I haven't used a hammer drill in like 10 years. I had the gen 1 m12 at first. Then the makita 18v sub compact and now the dewalt 20v one ever since they came out with it since that is my main platform. It struggles the most often when you get into using long bits. I feel like it can drill a 1/2" hole with a 6" bit better then a 1/4" hole with an 18" bit at least in actual concrete and not jus block

I don't believe this has the hammer only mode for chipping thus if you insert the sds chisel ended bit it will either rotate or in the hammer mode rotate with hammering but no hammer only mode. The DEWALT 12v and I believe the 20v atomic do not have an only hammer mode either.

Good price (with the hack) but it is a smaller rotary hammer and even though it states 5/8" that's the max diameter SDS bit. I would say 3/8"'or smaller would be a good range for drilling.

It definitely does. I own one myself. Notice the 3 settings on the selector. One's drilling only, one's drill+hammer, and the one closest to the chuck is hammer-only (no rotation).

Wow! I see what you mean! I have avoided this tool because I didn't believe it had a chisel only mode! How well does it work in that mode?
