I got two 'open box' controllers from vipoutlet. One didn't work and both were heavily used. I guess some buyers put their old controllers and return them to Walmart. Then vipoutlet resells them as open box.

I got one last month and it was basically brand new with the battery's still sealed.

Just return it if it's not as described, eBay has some of the best buyer protection anywhere

I ordered a record player in a damaged open box that this seller wrote all over the description stating that the item was in perfect condition. They shipped it in the damaged item's box and with no packaging materials to protect it. Guess what happened? I complained about their total negligence and got no response for 4 days. I was given the option to return it, but I'd have to buy a new box. Seller wouldn't state if they would reimburse me for the box as it was 75% of the refund cost. eBay told me that I would have to wait 2 weeks for the seller to decide if they would consider my terms as fair. Forget that. I did a chargeback. Never again will I deal with VIPOutlet.

Yeah if you don't mind returning an item it's worth taking a shot. Otherwise if your time is that valuable just buy it new new haha.
