The Firebat A6 is being discussed as a strong value mini PC for Ryzen 7 7735HS performance, 16GB LPDDR5 memory, and a 512GB SSD at this price. The chip is seen as solid for everyday use and light gaming, though the 7735HS uses the older 680M graphics rather than the faster 780M found in newer Ryzen 8845HS and 8840HS systems. The main caution is quality control and software hygiene, with reports of loose screws, occasional factory malware on older Firebat stock, and some units running very hot or crashing under load. A clean Windows reinstall and fresh drivers are treated as the safest first step.

  • The mini PC can run a clean Windows install by deleting all partitions during setup.

  • The system can be made stable after updating BIOS and installing AMD chipset and graphics drivers.

  • The device can be quiet and pass stress tests after adding a Gen4 SSD and extra RAM.

  • The Bypassnro method can still work for creating a local Windows account on newer installs.

  • Some Firebat units have reportedly shipped with malware detected by Malwarebytes and Windows Defender.

  • Some Firebat units have reportedly arrived with bare screws loose inside the case from the second M.2 slot.

  • The system has reportedly run extremely hot and repeatedly rebooted or crashed even after reformatting and driver updates.

  • The OOBE\BYPASSNRO local-account bypass has reportedly failed on Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2 builds.

Why... cause it is the best value around. You got OLD STOCK... Firebat, Acemagic, etc... all used the same imaging company. Once the virus was discovered they switched companies but they did not reformat the devices they had in stock. I do not believe the virus was installed in 2026, but was installed in 2024. And ANYONE who buys a computer such as a mini pc or a dell, or HP, Acer, etc... should be reformatting the hard drive, getting rid of any partitions. It is easy to do and FREE and you will not have the issues you have described. I will also point out you got a Ryzen 5... OLD TECH... This is the story of why your machine had viruses on it.... https://www.reddit.com/r/MiniPCs/...f_malware/
Why does it matter if he got old stock? Is that his fault? All you are pointing out is that the problem still exist in the currently available firebat PCs that you can buy new TODAY. And if that is the case, is it not totally the right thing to do to warn people that they may be buying a virus infected PC? I don't see the issue of him pointing out his new PC had a bunch of virus threats out of the box.

There is an known issue in 2024... Effective Mini PC's had these Ryzen CPU's...
Ryzen 5 5500H
Ryzen 5 5600H (often confused in listings)
Ryzen 7 5700U / 5700H (two different variants exist)
Ryzen 5 6600H

Hence "old stock". I also don't see an issue and I think you should reformat your harddrive immediately, but there has been no proof of any virus that was installed on a Ryzen 7 7735HS by any of the big mini pc makers.

What is happening right now is that these mini pc makers can't afford new RAM and they are fixing or getting rid of old stock and that guy purchased a system that was made in 2024, it's unfortunate but as far as I am concerned, it is irrelevant regarding this mini pc deal.

It is actually a great time to by a barebone system, IMHO... cause RAM and hard drives are so expensive mini pc sales have fallen dramatically. And Trump tariffs has not helped. I feel some of these barebones are being sold close to cost.

And it is a golden opportunity to buy barebone systems. I really like the Ryzen 9 AI 370 HX, that acermagic has for $535 at that price their profit is next to nothing.

Be aware that last month's Firebat AM02 came infested with around 50 instances of a few viruses scattered across files on the Windows 11 install; and a few people (including myself) had bare screws rolling around inside the case as well from the 2nd M.2 slot Search here for the AM02 thread for details.
Yup, had a bare screw myself. However I immediately installed a fresh copy of Windows knowing that these brands tend to have shady shit on them.

The OS is tied to your motherboard serial number, so it is super easy to install a new OS at no cost on DAY 1!!!!

Installing a clean version of Windows without a Microsoft account (a "local account") has become slightly more difficult in 2026, but it is still very doable using a simple bypass during the setup process.
Phase 1: Create Your Installation Media

Since you have a Ryzen-based mini PC, you want to ensure you are getting the official, un-bloated files directly from the source.

Go to the official Microsoft Windows 11 Download page on a clean computer.

Use the "Create Windows 11 Installation Media" tool to turn a USB flash drive (8GB or larger) into a bootable installer.

Phase 2: The Installation (The "Clean Sweep")

Plug the USB into your Firebat and boot from it (usually by tapping F7 or Delete during startup).

When asked for a product key, select "I don't have a product key" (it will usually auto-activate later via the hardware ID).

Crucial Step: When asked "Which type of installation do you want?", choose Custom: Install Windows only (advanced).

Delete every single partition on the Drive until you see nothing but "Unallocated Space." This ensures any hidden factory malware recovery partitions are gone.

Select that empty space and click "Next."

Phase 3: The "No-Microsoft-Account" Bypass

Once Windows restarts, it will walk you through the "Out of Box Experience" (OOBE). It will eventually try to force you to connect to the internet and sign in to a Microsoft account. Use this trick to skip it:

Stay Offline: Do not plug in an Ethernet cable or connect to Wi-Fi yet.

Open Command Prompt: On the screen where it asks you to connect to a network, press Shift + F10.

Type the Bypass Command: In the black box that appears, type the following exactly and hit Enter:
OOBE\BYPASSNRO

Reboot: The PC will automatically restart and return to the same setup screen.

The New Option: This time, when it asks you to connect to a network, you will see a new option: "I don't have internet." Click that.

Limited Setup: On the next screen, click "Continue with limited setup."

You can now enter a local username and password of your choice without ever linking a Microsoft account.
Final Step: Drivers

Once you are at the desktop, you will need drivers (especially for the Ryzen chipset). Since this is a mini PC, Windows Update usually handles 90% of them. For the remaining ones, it is safest to go directly to AMD's website for the chipset and graphics drivers rather than using the Firebat factory website, just to stay 100% clean.
These instructions (OOBE\BYPASSNRO) haven't worked for for the last two versions of Windows 11 (24H2 and 25H2)... 🤦 ♂️🤦 ♂️🤦 ♂️

This is the newest way:To install Windows 11 24H2 with a local account, disconnect from the internet, then use start ms-cxh:localonly in the command prompt (Shift+F10) during the "Sign in" screen. This bypasses the Microsoft account requirement in the 24H2 build.

I have continued to use Bypassnro without issue on the latest versions of windows 11 installs
