Why does it matter if he got old stock? Is that his fault? All you are pointing out is that the problem still exist in the currently available firebat PCs that you can buy new TODAY. And if that is the case, is it not totally the right thing to do to warn people that they may be buying a virus infected PC? I don't see the issue of him pointing out his new PC had a bunch of virus threats out of the box.

There is an known issue in 2024... Effective Mini PC's had these Ryzen CPU's...
Ryzen 5 5500H
Ryzen 5 5600H (often confused in listings)
Ryzen 7 5700U / 5700H (two different variants exist)
Ryzen 5 6600H

Hence "old stock". I also don't see an issue and I think you should reformat your harddrive immediately, but there has been no proof of any virus that was installed on a Ryzen 7 7735HS by any of the big mini pc makers.

What is happening right now is that these mini pc makers can't afford new RAM and they are fixing or getting rid of old stock and that guy purchased a system that was made in 2024, it's unfortunate but as far as I am concerned, it is irrelevant regarding this mini pc deal.

It is actually a great time to by a barebone system, IMHO... cause RAM and hard drives are so expensive mini pc sales have fallen dramatically. And Trump tariffs has not helped. I feel some of these barebones are being sold close to cost.

And it is a golden opportunity to buy barebone systems. I really like the Ryzen 9 AI 370 HX, that acermagic has for $535 at that price their profit is next to nothing.

Installing a clean version of Windows without a Microsoft account (a "local account") has become slightly more difficult in 2026, but it is still very doable using a simple bypass during the setup process.

Go to the official Microsoft Windows 11 Download page on a clean computer.

Phase 3: The "No-Microsoft-Account" Bypass

Once Windows restarts, it will walk you through the "Out of Box Experience" (OOBE). It will eventually try to force you to connect to the internet and sign in to a Microsoft account. Use this trick to skip it:

Stay Offline: Do not plug in an Ethernet cable or connect to Wi-Fi yet.

Open Command Prompt: On the screen where it asks you to connect to a network, press Shift + F10.

Type the Bypass Command: In the black box that appears, type the following exactly and hit Enter:
OOBE\BYPASSNRO

Reboot: The PC will automatically restart and return to the same setup screen.

The New Option: This time, when it asks you to connect to a network, you will see a new option: "I don't have internet." Click that.

Limited Setup: On the next screen, click "Continue with limited setup."

You can now enter a local username and password of your choice without ever linking a Microsoft account.
Final Step: Drivers

Once you are at the desktop, you will need drivers (especially for the Ryzen chipset). Since this is a mini PC, Windows Update usually handles 90% of them. For the remaining ones, it is safest to go directly to AMD's website for the chipset and graphics drivers rather than using the Firebat factory website, just to stay 100% clean.

This is the newest way:To install Windows 11 24H2 with a local account, disconnect from the internet, then use start ms-cxh:localonly in the command prompt (Shift+F10) during the "Sign in" screen. This bypasses the Microsoft account requirement in the 24H2 build.

I have continued to use Bypassnro without issue on the latest versions of windows 11 installs
