Last time I saw this discount, they processed a bunch of orders and shipped the product, then they requested a return. They took 3 months to process the refund.

If they shipped out and the product was paid for, they really don't have any legal standing to request it back. I'm confused how that worked.

Yep, once you've paid for a product, and it's in your hands, the only thing they can do is ask for you to voluntarily return it for a refund. LG could have requested a stop on the delivery, but if they didn't and the product was delivered, customer is under no legal obligation to return the item for a refund. It's why you should never celebrate and count a slick deal as golden just because it shipped, as the seller could still have the shipper stop delivery and return to sender.

I would've bought it if so ... the monitor was posted in on slickdeals for $1300 in early 2025. I'd love to upgrade my 144hz LG 38WN95C-W but i'm waiting for the next gen OLEDs to fix the text fringe at this resolution...

I posted an experience with this company and it' seems to be fairly common experience that the company is a nightmare to deal with when requesting a refund.
Ultimately anyone you email or speak to on the phone has no power to issue a refund, tell you the status of an order besides what the website shows (which will give conflicting info with their emails they send out).. I contend that no company has ongoing issues like this unless this is their operating procedure.
If you have signed up for text contact they will tell you that you can cancel an order and get refunded by selecting a numbered option in the text. You can't. The refund will never come. Your instinct will be to contact customer support through email or maybe even call. They can't help you and your request will be sent to another department. * Strange you just can't contact the proper department.
You might be told your refund request has been received and will take 'x' business days to issue a refund. My experience? It won't. You need to contact your payment provider. If you used PayPal, they give LG 20 business days to respond. Keep in mind that's with documentation and screenshots that LG has issued a refund. Which your payment provider knows that LG has not.
LG will stop your shipping at the delivery company if they say it was a price mistake. You will wait 40 days minimum for a refund for a product you never received.
I'm not saying every order is going to be like this but their process is to delay and make refunds extremely frustrating. It's quiet understood on deal forums that the status information on their website does not reflect what stage the item actually is in.

Best of luck to people that order.

Similar yes, exact same no. Searching SD there was one the 39GS95QE model, which is a similar one as this, this is just an upgraded version, it apparently has speakers built in, and there may be some other QoL changes. This is for all intents and purposes the upgraded version of that other model.

MSI's latest Ultrawide does this, something about the way they orient the pixels or something. But it's really a unicorn as far as finding one now. I expect that "5th gen" of WOLED panels will populate different manufacturers by the end of the year though.

In fact that may very well be the reason you're seeing all these OLEDs on sale outside of major holidays, they're simply trying to get rid of old stock before releasing new stock that people will flock to and not purchasing the older stuff anymore.

Yeah, im going to wait and see how these new monitors get reviewed. I'd hoped to upgrade my GPU to drive something higher res, but my 4070 will have to suffice for a couple more years yet.

Not sure if it was this exact model but recently had eyes on one(or one with similar specs) and WQHD at 39" the text looked like crap compared to my LG 42" 4K C2.

The text isnt great, I own one, but you get used to it. I paid $700 for mine, but I wouldnt have paid a dollar more. Coming from a VA panel thought the colors are significantly better, the Samsung 49 inch I had which was also 1440p, had insane amount of light bleed with horrendous lit room visibility. You win some you lose some. I still consider it an upgrade, not too big not too small of a monitor. Bummer they couldnt have increased the ppi though
