How many lines are included with this?
Just realize... every month or second month Mint Mobile runs a half price promotion FOR A YEAR... that is $180 plus taxes and regulatory fees for ONE YEAR of service.

This is not a deal... it is a tease.

Plan correctly and SAVE MONEY.

Can you use this in a hotspot or does it have to be a phone?

Mint has the absolute worst customer service. Hope you never need it. Talk to a chatbot or a foreign call center that apparently equips their staff with $3 headsets. And the staff will lie, blaming problems with your phones provisioning on a 'local tower problems' while the person next to you on a tmobile phone has a great connection. - a recent and soon to be former mint customer.
I'm on the other end of this. Was a customer for 4 years and tried to get the $180 rate they gave to new customers. Was told no, threated to cancel my service and got the intro rate within 5 minutes.

Let me shed a tear for you.

But we need specs... what plan did you have the cheapest the middle or the most expensive (did you know there is a 4TH plan that is even better).

And who cares about the staff... they just don't know, that does not make them bad. Did you have a eSim or phyical SIM.

Yes, if you bitch and complain, you may get what you want. We all know this.

I got that teaser rate (Free for first 3 months)... so I called and DEMANDED another 3 free months OR I WILL threaten to cancel... and I got it. I have done this about 30 times... just don't understand why people say it's expensive when it is free for me.

I switched my family to Mint a while back. I never got the sign up promised reward. 10+ calls later, I gave up. I tried to switch away from Mint and found out they hold your account number from you to prevent you from leaving. You're required to call, speak to multiple people, give reasons for leaving..etc. After a 30 minute phonecall I got our account numbers and could leave. Ridiculous. Service was fine, but I won't go back and don't recommend them.
I had a different experience. I have used Mint mobile for years and few times switched to other services to chase deals. Never a problem with customer service. Last time I received the pin to port the number in minutes by chatting with customer service, can't remember if it was even a bot.
I recommend the service.

I had the 5 GB yearly plan for 7 years and never had a problem. I had done speed tests here and there and got around 700 Mbps at my home.

I switched earlier this year to Visible to get unlimited at $19/mo plus another $15/mo off FiOS.

My cheap Visible plan isn't very fast, but it's been reliable. I see around 60 Mbps where I live.

I didn't have any issues porting out of Mint. A 5 min chat and I had my pin.

I had my wife join Mint just before I left to grab their yearly offer.

You make no sense.

This is a pre paid... you know exactly what you are getting when you buy the service. There is no promise of rewards, I call out the bullshit.

And based on what you are saying... this is what people are saying... they speak to them and then they get the service for 50% off for another year.

How to Get Your Port-Out PIN. You have two primary ways to request this:
Chat: You can use the chat service on the Mint Mobile website or in the Mint Mobile app. This is often faster than calling.
Phone: You can call their customer support at (800) 683-7392.

And based on the price, YES I RECOMMEND MINT MOBILE. As you said, service was good.

Similar...

Mint is 300MBps and Visible is 35MBps where I live. I switch between their flag ship plans and only buy when they have the half off deal for a year. SO I pay around 200ish with Mint and 225 with Visible.

I have no issues with Visible. The slower data did not do much in regards my usage.. I stream movies and play games.

p.s.
When I added the promo they took off another promo and my FIOS service got more expensive. I pay $35 per month (after all discounts) for 300 up and 300 down and I own all my own equipment.

Have you ever even used Mint?! They almost always have sign-up rewards for referrals. I signed up and referred multiple family members to switch. Never got the rewards for it although I can prove I switched them all. What part of that is BS in your mind? It was something like refer one for a $25 credit, refer two for an additional $30 credit, refer three for an additional $35 credit...etc. They owed me about $100 in credits and I got squat.

As far as leaving Mint, every other service I've had provides you your account number. What a basic part of your account. Name one other service you sign up for ANYWHERE that refuses to simply provide your own account number! I chatted with Mint but they told me I was required to call for my account number specifically. I called and they wouldn't provide the account number until I gave them the reason for leaving. At this point I was exhausted from speaking to them so I just kept demanding my account number. They literally wouldn't give it until I explained to them the WHOLE scenario where they didn't provide the rewards I was promised so I was moving my family away once more.
Seriously, go somewhere else to troll. This was my experience.

Fortunately, I hadn't lost any discounts. Before switching to Visible, I initiated a chat with a Verizon CS to make sure the $15/mo FiOS discount would occur. Funny enough, after confirming that, they offered me a $100 Verizon GC which I just applied to my FiOS bill. I didn't ask questions. nod
