any difference with the deals from lowes? looks like same price but lowes has longer return time. any comments?
If it's like last years deal, you can return the extra battery, if you get it from Amazon.

Battery powered lawnmower? How long is the stock battery good for? I got one acre grass field to trim. Not sure this is for me
My experience with the EGO with a single 7.5Ah battery is that it is good for about 1/4 acre, level ground, manual pushing (about 3 to 4 inch thick grass). If you keep your blades sharp and grass lower, you'll get better mileage.

If I had a 1 acre lawn, I'd get a riding mower! 😅

I've had an ego mower similar to this one (slightly smaller deck maybe) and self-push for 10 years this coming July. No issues if the grass isn't 1) wet or 2) allowed to get too high (in which case I cut it on 5 and then again on 3 the next week). Of course, I am not running the original battery, because as m[y] Ego collection of tools has grown, I have gotten new ones that I have swapped in and out among them all. Highly recommend. I actually just bought this combo and will be giving away my 10-year-old unit to family.

I just got the 22" aluminum deck version. It's a lot more mower and battery, but it's also a lot more expensive. It's currently on sale though with 10ah and 5ah batteries included plus a 700 watt fast charger. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/EGO-Power-...C99&sr=1-3
It's also heavy AF. The self propel helps obviously, but it's night and day in terms of weight compared to the composite deck of the EGO 21 inch I purchased in 2016.The aluminum mower was a gift so I can shrug it off, but it's a bit of a beast when not using self propel. For context, my yard is not flat.

Bought this exact deal last year, from Amazon.

I returned the extra battery and I have not needed a second (even with mowing the yard, swapping to my weed wacker, and blower).

Okay enough deal for $450, after returning the extra battery. A gas mower is vastly superior, I keep my grass decently high (setting 6 on this) and it's extremely thick, this mower jams up 3-4 times a mow versus my old gas Johndeere.
I have the (LM2206SP) 22" aluminum deck version, and I'm very impressed with the power. It spanks my gas powered Airens Razor no contest. I got the 10ah and 5ah battery with it, only used the 10ah so far. But that's a good idea returning the 2nd battery. I do plan on getting a blower and combo tool, so I think I'll keep my 2nd battery. But my 10ah battery can do 1/3rd acre wet grass and still show a full charge according to the indicators. It is an expensive kit (on sale) that will never pay for itself, but my deck will also never rust apart ever again like my Razor just did, so maybe there is a balance point in there somewhere. My Razor was like $425 some 7-8 years ago and it's now a pile of rust unfortunately. Everything else still works good on it, but the deck is full of holes. The LM2206SP is on sale right now for $1099, return the 2nd battery and that brings it down to $940.

This LM2206SP is only about 15 lbs more then my Ariens Razor but it's soooo much easier to push for some reason. I didn't weight either of my mowers, but I do have to pick them up for storage reasons, so just by feel it's only about a 15lb difference. But the LM2206SP has soooo much more torque as well. So far I'm real happy with my purchase.

I need a couple new batteries, this is a good deal? We have a mower, but would upgrade if better than our few years old one. I dont need another blower LOL!

Not sure why the downvote. This is absolutely something to keep in mind.
Because most people don't have this experience. I'm going my 6th year with a 5ah and 2.5ah battery and they haven't shown any noticeable signs of degradation.

Good to know! Thanks for the data point. I think it's still a gut-check for some/most when going from gas to electric. Gas motor failure is likely due to owner neglect, so those of us who meticulously maintain them are likely to get well over a decade of service. Whereas batteries seem to fail more randomly with less attributable to care/neglect.

I've had my ego for 6 full years. I had to replace the original battery in year 4, just outside warranty. Regardless of your subjective view, it's a simple indisputable fact that lithium degrades over time with each charge. It's nonsense to argue otherwise.

I wish they had a good deal on just the mower... Already have enough batteries
You can return the battery for $212. And then sell the 7.5ah for like $150. Reasonably easy solution and you'll never see the bare mower that cheap.

Bought the same combo from ace in 2024 for $600. Talk about inflation. Good mower though
With both batteries??

Comparing to a John Deer? That's slow compared to my using the afterburner of my F-104 to clear all the brush and scrub!
