Insane deal! This is $400 lower than I usually see it for. IMO, this is THE kit to get if you live in an apartment. The silent snare is amazing. I'm considering getting another one as a 4th tom.

Note, the other Tom's don't have rim triggers.just the PDQ-8S snare, which is amazing. Hopefully they make a 10" one soon.

Alesis Nitro Max is apparently a really good mid grade one. I'm waiting for it to go on sale again for $350 from guitar center but its $450 normally

This would be a crazy good set for kids to randomly bang on lol. So yes, a kid can get by on these, somehow someway.

I'd check Facebook marketplace as well. Saw a used like new one of those pop up for $150. This is a month after I bought my kid the same thing for $350 from GC...

Yeah, you want the Nitro Max (or a variant) or the simmons Titan 70 or 75.

This is an awesome deal. Instruments tend to go a long way and hold value if you grew tired of drums and want to sell.

Just to throw in my 2 cents because I was going through an e-drum dilemma for my kid about a year ago... I ended up going with a used Roland TD-17KV kit that I found used at a local guitar center for $600. Then upgraded shortly after to a new 17KV2 that I found on craigslist. I previously considered a Simmons Titan 70 and Alesis Nitro Max, and owned a Roland TD11 about a decade earlier. I loved the sounds on the Simmons and I like the blue, but overall the construction felt cheaper, from the module to the rack. I didn't really love the sounds on the Alesis modules (I tried nitro and strata, but they didn't appeal to me that much). Roland overall felt more solid and they have the best sounds in the business imo. It's something that works great at home but could easily be used at a bar or club gig. They also have great resale value. I was just lucky with the ones I found locally.
