Smokin' deal. I paid like $450 for my 30" rancher fifteen years ago...still starts right up. haven't even so much as changed the spark plug. I did drop it to an 18" bar because the chains are cheaper.

If you don't mind used or like new, there is always a lot of echo timberwolfs in my area super cheap (hopefully y'alls market is similar). I bought one used 2 years ago for $180 off fb marketplace, it's been a great saw, lots of torque.

TU for the deal on a husky, it's a great saw too, just binds a little more.

This is a good price but i've also seen them on clearance as low as $329 at Lowes in the past. If you're already at the store, also check to see if they have the 545 Mark II on clearance. They usually have both saws on clearance at the same time with the 545 being a much more competent saw and usually it's only an extra $50 or so on clearance than the 455.

I bought a 545 Mark II on clearance at Lowes 2 years ago for $380 when the 455 was also on clearance. It's a big, fairly heavy saw.... pretty much overkill for every homeowner, but i'd rather have too much saw than not enough unless I'm limbing all day or am up in the tree. Cheap light saws are easy to come by for those smaller tasks.

I've had a 450 rancher for eight years. I let the bar rust up and have never changed any of the fuel lines or parts. The thing still starts up on the first or second pull.

Had mine for over four years gone through dozens of cords of wood still starts up every time. Doesn't hurt throw grab the maintenance kit off Amazon and throw that in every 20 gallons you put through it

If you want a few decent saw on a budget the Poulan 4218 and 5020 are budget versions of Husky. Reliable saws with great parts support both OEM and aftermarket. Some of those budget saws are great out of the box but when you need a carb or clutch you are searching AliExpress.
