For those who don't know, you should essentially never put your TV on your wireless network. Multiple lawsuits (VIZIO specifically) have taken place for TV companies sending screen specific data back to their servers (what you are watching, when, even sending info about other devices on your network). A lot of TVs will not allow you to turn of wireless once you turn it on and connect it. It's more expensive, but buying a streaming device like an Apple TV or Shield TV is much preferred for a host of reasons.

if you are looking for the cheapest BIG TV right NOW, then yea this is a good deal. Although Walmart has onn 85" for $499 but pickup only. Every now and then they have a Hisense or TCL that is 85" and ROKU for $499 SHIPPPPED. dont under estimate the free shipping when it comes to TVs this big. Many dont have the vehicle and its a hassle if the only way to fit it in your car is if you unbox it in the parking lot. thats worth $50 in itself to avoid doing all that.

I hate fire TV but its fine if you are keeping things simple, youtube and usual apps. ROKU seems more polished. But still Google TV is preferred. Nothing a $40-60 ONN streaming stick cant fix.

I forsee 85" mighthit $399-450 SHIPPED during black friday if you can wait. They were $499 last year, and year before were $550.

And the people going nuts its 60hz, come on, some people dont care and would rather get teh big screen at 60hz instead of a dinky 65-75 for same price with 120hz. stay in your lane.

It's odd how TVs are the one electronic that still get cheaper, yet they have stayed at 60Hz until you're in the mid-range category. Frown
Enough people are still not informed enough to know why 120Hz+ is necessary on larger TVs, or why "truemotion" or whatever each manufacturer calls it now ("fake frames" is the actual definition) sucks. Until most of the population stops buying these low refresh rate TVs, they will keep making them to take your money any way they can, this being one of the easiest ways with no re-tooling or expensive electronics necessary. Just make a bigger TV with bad refresh rate and almost everyone buys it. Yay!

TL;DR: slow, lots of ads, and handicapped OS/apps. If you do end up getting a Fire TV, you might want budget for a separate streaming device to use with it.

How about you tell us why 120 hz plus is necessary on big screen TVs. Unless you are doing 120 hz gaming then you will never be using that higher refresh rate to watch TV or movies. Some people just like to spread propaganda without even knowing the truth about what they're spreading.

120hz being just for gaming is just not the case.

Can argue all day about motion interpolation being shit for TV and film(which is my opinion),but 120hz for sports is a game changer.
And many people use their TVs for sports primarily.

Also,a lot of people like motion interpolation enabled for film.

And if ya like motion smoothing than 120hz is way better for avoiding judder for 24fps film content.
Because it divides evenly into 120,there is no need for that annoying 3:2 pulldown that 60hz tvs use.

Not saying that many people won't be satisfied with 60hz panel, but 120hz has a bit of non gaming value

I don't know of any mainstream sports that are broadcast in 120 hz. Also if you like that motion smoothing look most 60hz televisions can do that too.
