Only problem with pickup is you can't message the shopper for replacements. So they either have your choice or first replacement, otherwise you're outta luck
After you place your order, on the following page you can choose replacements/substitute and/or choose to refund if out of stock.

Does anyone know if this will stack with the Amex gold grubhub monthly credit?
Don't think it will work. Charge will show up as Instacart charge.

Yes, just choose AMEX Gold as your payment option.
The $50 off worked BUT it coded as Instacart and not Grubhub. I don't think I'll get my credit but it's still a really good deal! Bought a bunch of steaks from sprouts and picking up tomorrow!

Does anyone know if you are making a grocery order and an item isn't avail at all... Do you lose the $50 off?
No, you are not penalized. If you order a $4 jar of mayo and it's out of stock, you'll pay $46 for your order versus $50 if you spent $50

for every weekend is it one order or can we use one for saturday and one for sunday
It is 1x use per weekend. not per weekend day. No harm looking tomorrow to see if it works again, but that's not how the deal is worded.

"Users will remain responsible for any applicable tax, fees, and optional tip" .... where does it say no tipping needed?
There is no tipping at ALDI, the order is shopped by an Aldi employee. They simply wheel it out and put it in your trunk/liftgate. Very similar to pick up orders at Target. They have assigned spots you park in and you use the GrubHub app to let them know you are there and what kind of car you're in and the spot # of your car. If you want to tip them, you can, but they do not expect to be tipped as a rule. It's not like a shopper who drives their car to Aldi and them comes to your house. The Aldi person is already being paid by Aldi as an employee.

I had this question too, if my total goes below $100, due to out of stock and no sub causing a refund, will that they cancel the promo as the new total is below $100 total?

My order briefly went below $100 because an item was out of stock and my promo code disappeared, but I was able to add another item to bring the total back up to over $100 and I received the $50 off.

worked for me. Had to pay $8 instacart fee (which I normally wouldn't pay with Instacart+), but that's a fair fee to pay when saving $50.

No, the order is considered 'confirmed' when you place it. If items are OOS, they are lined out of the order and deducted from the total shown.

So, if on GrubHub you've placed an order for $102 in items and with tax it's $106 and a jug of detergent you ordered is OOS at $9.99, you'll pay $9.99 + tax less on your final total AFTER the $50 was already credited.

In my experience, the discount doesn't get removed just because an item is out of stock and the total drops below the promo threshold after the order is placed.
  • If you manually remove items, change quantities, or swap items yourself, the order total is recalculated and you can lose the promo.
  • If the Instacart shopper makes substitutions or items are out of stock, the discount usually still applies.
  • The key point is that the promo is based on the order at checkout, not necessarily the final fulfilled total.
For example, I placed a $100 order and received the $50 off promo, but after delivery (due to out-of-stock and missing items), my final charge ended up being around $35—and the discount still applied.

I was concerned because the order indicated a price of $51, but it suddenly increased to $94 after the item went out of stock and a refund for it was issued.
I wanted to avoid any issues, so I added something else to bring the total up to $100, but it appears that wasn't necessary.
