$1100 for what is pretty much the Legion Go 1 Z1E but with an OLED screen.
You're right, I don't agree with you.

It's definitely overpriced since it's a Z2, not a Z2 Extreme. The Z2's benchmark is pretty much the same as the Z1 Extreme. I'd just go for the Legion Go s with the Z1 Extreme 32GB RAM; it's cheaper too. Sometimes you can get an open box on Best Buy for around $400 - $500.

just fyi, the link you posted is for a Legion Go S not the Legion Go 2 and that same device is now $1579.99 at Best Buy. I don't agree with these prices but my opinion doesn't matter when these are the prices available. This deal is for those who want get Legion Go 2 at the cheapest price available in this new inflated economy.

Whether you agree or not, the inflated tech pricing is reality. If you want to get this device, you are looking at $1500 at Best Buy or $2000 for the z2 extreme. My post is for those who want to get a Legion Go 2 without paying the current $1500 new price point. I purchased an Xbox ally x and when I went to Best Buy and looked at it side by side with the Legion Go 2, the bigger screen and OLED just looked so much better. This is the best price I've seen for it in a while.

You can also watch ETA Prime's comparison on Youtube between the z2 and z2 extreme and the difference was very small. Definitely not worth an extra $900 based on the current pricing imo...

Not gonna bash, I have the OG and I'm not a hardcore gamer but as my only gaming device 16GB is barely on the edge of being enough shared ram. I really enjoy my device but I wish 24GB was the minimum. That said, there are workarounds that still make it enjoyable. I'm running bazzite on mine and I still have an old game that I had to make system tweaks for to prevent crashes when running out of ram.

Agree. I'd go with Z1E and 32gb ram over OLED with 16gb.
Plus, those detachable controllers are too gimmicky and don't look comfortable to hold.

I got the Z1E 32gb Legion Go S at Walmart for $650 (new) and added 3 or 4 years extended warranty, a while back. I like it for the bigger screen that the Ally/X plus, more ram than both.

Seems like solid reasoning. How'd you manage the that price from Walmart?

The Ally development team is more active on updates. Lenovo is winning down on handheld.

Better off getting a used or open box Asus Rog Ally X since the Z2 is not a great chip and $1,100 for something with a mostly equivalent chip with less ram to the Ally X (not the Xbox ally x) is 1000000000% not worth it. Honestly terrible deal overall. Rampocalypse has ruined the PC/Android handheld market.

The screen is incredible, even on this model. Performance is still pretty good, but the 16GB of RAM is going to be an issue in Windows.

I have the Z2E with 32GB and it's pretty much a no-compromise handheld gaming PC, great screen, great speakers and good performance (it's no Strix Halo but it plays most things fine). Battery life is not bad, even with the screen maxed out and a 35W TDP on the APU I can get around 2 hours, but you can get a lot more by tweaking settings. Wish they'd have given the Z2 model either 20 or 24GB of RAM, would be an easy recommendation at that point, but for this kind of price I'd stay away. At best you'll have 6GB of VRAM and 10GB of system memory which just isn't enough in a lot of cases. Might manage to get 8GB of VRAM and 8GB of system memory to work with Xbox Full Screen Experience, but mine sits at 10GB without having anything but LegionSpace, the Xbox app and Steam open.

Also, as mentioned by others, there aren't many updates coming from Lenovo. They finally updated the graphics drivers, but the version is several months old. It did fix Elden Ring crashing, which is nice. I haven't had many issues with drivers, but for such and eye-wateringly expensive device you'd expect a bit more support. But if it isn't broke, don't try to fix it, I guess. Not sure how much longer Lenovo will keep making these. I can't see them being too popular at the current prices. At $1,600 and $2,000, I'd imagine they're making some sort of profit, but they're not longer selling out instantly.

It's a shame they're so unaffordable, they're incredible pieces of technology, almost feels futuristic using one. Hopefully prices come back down a bit and we see this model below the $1,000 mark. Really would like the handheld gaming PC market to grow, but it can't if prices stay as high as they are. Same goes for PC gaming as a whole.
