Thanks...I'm looking for a new printer. Not sure if I want to get the smart tank style, or the "standard" ones.

But this is a good price

Still waiting on a deal for a printer with decent reviews (if there is even one out there).

A HP even at the price of free is not a deal. This post is essentially attempted robbery.

Nothing HP is a deal, worst printers ever, and they even try to over engineer them to make them more annoying. Like putting admin accounts on laser business printers so you cant change anything without flipping open covers to look at the credentials every time. Buy a Canon or a Brother and you will be happy.

Facts, HP are garbage at any price, will just barely last over a year than scrap heap.

Hah, saw one thrown out yesterday, "hmm, might be worth testing to see if it just needs new cartridges" then saw it was HP, and thought, "nah".

Do not buy an HP, you do not own it. You are paying for the ""privilege"" to use it.

What's with the hate on HP? I have an 11 year old HP Officejet Pro 8610 e‑All‑in‑One Printer. I've used the instant ink program from the start. You spend less than half of what the ink costs if you had to buy it.

Agreed, I have an older OJ 9010 which is still running. I also have the eink program, and I agree, for my usage as well, it's about 50% less than buying cartridges myself.

I've always had HP printers, and while I agree the eink program does have limitations and catches (eg, if you stop the program, your existing carts are disabled immediately, even if there is ink in them) but if you know these things, then it's not a huge deal... just don't be stupid and cancel before you get replacement non-eink carts.

If you don't use eink, there is nothing in the printer that prevents you from using it until it dies. If you use alternative carts, then you could run into issues... I never use non-HP as I find they jam more often than HP branded ink (my parents insist on using non-branded, and run into problems on their printers here and there - not every day, but often enough that it doesn't seem worth it to me).

I've used Epson printers before. They have had issues with paper feeding (sometimes multiple sheets at a time), and have had a few jams even with branded ink. I've also seen these leave black marks on paper from the wheels at times.

In the end, no printer seems "great" but HPs have been good for my needs for decades now... I don't care for some of their practices, but they work.

Never had Brother. Had a few friends with Canons that had even more problems than Epsons did.

Office jet desk jet are the worst and slowest printers. Never again. Only laser. Literally printing takes ages just to transmit and start to print. So slow lol

Unless you need to print photos, get a laser
