Just in time. I have some Extreme Ops coming up on Saturday. I could explain them to you, but then, you know...

Also, the good news is that (based on the price history), if you miss it this round, it won't be long until it hits this price again. Wow.
EEK!

Picked this up in early April for the same price. My Ozark Trail knives feel better quality than this.

I actually got one of these. It just came. Not recommended.

Not sharp, not evenly sharp, pocket clip sticks really far out at the end, doesn't open smoothly even after adding lubricant, doesn't feel awesome in the hand.

Pass if you haven't ordered.

Sorry you got a lemon, but it happens. I have this knife, somewhere, no issues.

Taylor Brands LLC is the manufacturer of the Extreme Ops SWA25. It is an American company that produces and distributes knives under several licensed brand names, including Smith & Wesson, Schrade, Old Timer, and Uncle Henry.

Are they mostly manufactured in China? Yup, like 70+% of all budget knives. Even Spyderco manufactures some of their less expensive lines in China. (Tenacious is one iirc)

Regarding the steel, is .7% carbon content great? Nope, but at the $10 price point 7Cr17MoV isn't horrible. You're not getting CPM-S30V/S90V steel (e.g. Benchmade) for ten bucks.

btw: Not every knife made in China is crap. Ever heard of WE KNIFE or CIVIVI? Chinese owned and Chinese manufactured. Known for high quality.

TLDR; It's not great, but it's not a bad deal for ten bucks. OTOH, feel free to crap all over the 4Cr14 Kershaw craptastic front page deal for $22. It deserves it. FFS the Fraxion is only 70 cents more if you must. (IMHO-YMMV-All that jazz) Wink

Gun company not known for making knives. Handle listed as part of length to make the blade seem bigger than it is. And it's not just ops, it's extreme ops. Hard pass.

I asked AI to sum this rant up in one sentence. Is this what you are trying to say?
You probably just got a bad one—this is a $10 budget knife, not a premium blade, and while it's made in China like most affordable knives, that alone doesn't mean it's junk; for the price, the steel and quality are about what you'd reasonably expect.
