There are two reasons why you might want to choose the 20GB plan instead of unlimited:
  1. All 20GB can be used for a hotspot, instead of the limit of only 10GB on the unlimited plan.
  2. When you go from month three to month four, you will be able to roll any of the 20GB that was not used that month.
You cannot roll data during the first two months because that might invalidate the promotion. If you use a referral when creating an account, you will get $10 in Tello dollars. I'm not sure if anyone has tried, but you might be able to apply the Tello Dollars to the third month. But if not, you can definitely use it for the fourth month.

This is crucial advice for people looking to use this as a hotspot 2nd line only like me.
Get the 20gb plan which will give you 20g of hotspot over the unlimited plan that will only give you 10g of hotspot!

Service quality varies by location. I had missed texts or calls that never rang my phone, etc. Also, this company retaliates FYI. When they retired cheaper plans, they did it in a dirty manner by creating an illusion of grandfathering, telling customers that they could keep the old plans while removing the rollover features from them, effectively forcing customers to switch to higher plans. When I pointed this out, they punished me by taking away my Tello dollars. They were useful for port tricks, but I wouldn't use them for regular services.

So your Reddit post that said they took away your Tello dollars for breaking their terms of service by posting your referral codes all over Social media wasn't true then? Now you're claiming they punished you for complaining about their plan updates so which is it?
Many people complained about these plans being dropped at the time and didn't lose their referral dollars. Tello gave everyone the option to choose between staying with the discontinued plans at the same price via auto renewal which admittedly did take away their ability to rollover unused allocations or they could switch to the new plans for an extra $2 that gave us way more minutes and data and continue to rollover manually on the new plans. They gave us choices, some stayed with the old plan to save money, some jumped on the new plan and considered it a deal, others went to prepaid route to save a few cents on taxes and others said they would be moving to another carrier if they could find a better deal. Also you claim rollover is a feature, it's actually a hack that Tello is aware of and they can shut down anytime they feel like it and we all know it.
Bottom line you got caught doing something that went against their terms of service and they removed your referral dollars and now you're going to bad mouth then every chance you get. Grow up.
