FWIW, that limited edition controller is $90 on presale just about everywhere and the standard edition of the game is $70.

Since the Xbox Series X is retailing new in 2026 for $650, this is a pretty good deal if you are in the market.

Look, we all know what the Series X price USED to be. That ship has sailed...for now. For today's prices, this IS a good deal. This IS a good deal when the CURRENT retail price is $649.99...and that's with just one controller and no game. Come on people.

The Xbox series X launched for $499 in November 2020. With our runaway inflation, $499 in November 2020 adjusted to March 2026 dollars is $633.

While might argue that 6 year old tech should have dropped more, it's still the latest generation and we continue in times of unprecedented technology prices.

Cherry picking the deep discounts that were seen for a few days in November and a few days in December 2023 as holding those up as typical prices is disingenuous. Most of those deals were only available for a few hours/days with a limited stock at certain retailers.

this seems a real killer deal for me couple years ago, this series almost at his end-of-life, i would save money for the next gen, since the PC components went to the moon, NOTE (some American Express card holders may have a 50$ or more discount, this will make this deal better IMO.)

The old paradigm will never come back. They raised the prices, not because of market conditions, although that was part of it. They raised prices to set expectations for the future.

We will no longer see a subsidized console at launch that will lower in price over time.

M$/Sony see idiots pay over 1k a year for new phones, they know if they make a move together that the people will just accept it as there is no other choice.

Both of you guys are correct. This is both a shitty deal and a decent deal given the circumstances.
