Prior to year policy change I would have grabbed this. Don't need a lot of minutes or data, but now... Infimobile often has 5GB/month with unlimited talk and text for only $10 more for the year. TF year plans, even with the bundled phones, just not worth it anymore if the phone cannot be unlocked for a year.

Does that one year plan really worth $125? It only has 1500 minutes, 1500 texts, and 1.5GB data.

New policy requires one year of service.
sorry for the dumb question, new to this Smilie So I can get this phone for $49.88 plus tax. It comes with 1 year of service, but I have to wait one year to unlock. Is that right?

If so, do they do any weird stuff wher they unlock at 1 year + 1 day? Meaning I have to re-up for the 2nd year before unlock?

No after the year, it should autounlock via Wi-Fi within a day or 2 after the year of service.

Does it unlock after a year of continuous service or year from activation?

Meaning if I harvest the plan, would it still unlock in a year?

New unlock policy says unlock has to be requested after the year of service - so no one will know for sure till after January 2027.

If you harvest the plan the original phone gets deactivated so it won't have the required service to qualify for unlock.

I've been buying these annual minute plans for several years with the free phone usually QVC or the other buying outlet and glad to see Walmart selling it. I'm currently paid thru Feb 2027 with thousands of carry over minutes. Last purchase was around $60 sooooo yep, I'm in and thanks to poster.

It's only been gone for a few months. Mine auto-unlocked in November.

Looks like a great deal. I bought one, and my roommate bought one for himself. It's kind of sad that this has better specs than some of the newer tracfones.

Ordered one through the Walmart app and it got cancelled almost immediately.

"We're sorry, your order was flagged due to a violation of our Terms of Use, so we had to cancel."

I don't think I've ordered any phone through Walmart before. I do have a Tracfone I ordered recently through Amazon using the same email address

Also, I can't get the Walmart site to work on my Win 11 PC, no matter which browser I use. When I get to the page with the cart I just get a spinning wheel.

What are those cheaper alternatives?
QVC has cheaper ones, using new user coupon.
