I just came back from my local Lowe's (Mill Creek, WA). I guess it had started at 7:30am so when I strolled in at 11am, all the batteries/chargers were gone. It took awhile to find the person doing the trade in because he was walking around in full Dewalt gear (and a Craftsman shirt under his jacket). I gave him my ancient Makita 9.6 stick battery which still worked but the last tool I had that used didn't. He gave me the coupon and a promise to drop a battery off on Friday. The deal is good timing since my Craftsman string trimmer gave up the ghost last night.

Went to my local Lowe's around noon. Found the station with the representative that was wearing DeWALT clothing.

He was all out of batteries but gave me a coupon and asked for my phone #. He indicated that he'd call me on Friday to meet up and give me a battery. We'll see what happens.

He said that he didn't think the event would garner much attention so he only brought a dozen batteries.

I already used my coupon and it worked great even at the self checkout.

We were at the same Lowe's! He was out of batteries when I was there too. We'll see what happens on Friday. Fingers crossed. Yeah, the DeWALT gear caught me off guard too.

Went to the local event this morning. They are also doing a bogo special. You get a free tool from the table with the purchase of a battery 2 pack for $99 (linked below.) The $50 coupon is taken off of that. I purchased a hedge trimmer (tool only,) and battery 2 pack for $52. Plus, I received the free battery.

The trade in was a dead, knock off Amazon 20V battery from my Black and Decker tools.
