The "Verizon/Carrier" Version: Sold by Verizon, Spectrum, and Visibile. These have a encrypted bootloader that cannot be unlocked by the user.
The whole point in having a Pixel is to unlock bootloader and do install a custom rom, root it, do whatever you like to it and not jeopardize your warranty. Resale value on Verizon Pixels suck as well, to reflect these restrictions.. Funk Verizon and its MNVOs

So serious question.. what do people use the storage for on a phone? I take photos and videos, download apps, edit stuff and generally have 50GB+ free I go through a ton of storage on a PC but not really a phone
Do you record your videos at 4K with HDR? If you are, I don't understand how you have 50 GB left unless you have an online storage backup solution.

I know it's tough to understand how other users might need more space but it's really not that surprising in the year of 2026, where high resolution video is being taken and apps continuously take up a lot of cache. Maybe you download your podcast episodes because your internet gets wonky at times. Very easy to fill up. And also, at 128GB, it's actually more around 100gb-110gb of actual usage space since the operating system takes their space. That's advertised space that you don't actually get to use.

To give some perspective 100GB of space is around 4-5 hours of video recorded at 4k 30fps.
2-3 hours of video at 4k 60fps.

Much less video time if you also want to have some apps on your phone.

256Gb is a sweet spot for me. Makes it so I don't have to micromanage my storage all that much.

I do use Google Drive and maybe that's the big difference - everything gets backed up but can still be accessed easily. I record videos in 4k, images in 50MP raw and it just works

With that said, I primarily use my PC for editing so I don't really need to have hours of 4k video files downloaded on my phone at all times and maybe that's the big difference

Hope the following instructions are helpful to you or someone else, let us know what it shows.

Quote :
The Navigation Path

Open the Settings app.

Scroll to the very bottom and tap About phone.

Scroll down until you see the SIM status section (if you have dual SIMs/eSIMs active, it might list SIM status (slot 1) or SIM status (slot 2)—tap the primary one).

Look for the label titled SIM lock status.

What the Readings Mean

"Device is unlocked": Your Pixel 10 Pro is fully unlocked and can be used on any compatible carrier worldwide.

"[Carrier Name] Locked" (or similar wording): The phone is restricted to that specific carrier network until it is paid off or meets their unlock criteria.

Tried, does show any of these. When I get to the sim status, if I click either sim1/2, it just shows iMei# with SV.
At this point, I will just ask the rep to unlock phone again and if is indeed unlock, I should get a response noting phone is already unlocked.

This is alright but unfortunately I missed the Samsung deal for those free (effectively) with trade in S26s. Anyone know if those deals may circle back?
Wait for next year S27s
