This compact 12 volt to 110 volt inverter is best for light car use, like charging laptops, phones, dash cams, small fans, and rechargeable lights. The modified sine wave output works for many everyday devices, and the safety features, alarm, and shutdown behavior are described as working properly. The USB ports are slow, the 300 watt rating is treated cautiously, and real-world output is closer to about 100 to 150 watts from a vehicle socket. It can also draw power when left plugged in, so it is better suited to short, on the road use.

Common Questions (5)

  • In practice it is usually limited by the vehicle socket to about 120W to 150W, not the full 300W label. That is enough for lights, laptops, phones, and small electronics, but not for blenders or power tools.

  • No. It is a modified sine wave inverter, so sensitive electronics can behave differently than on a pure sine unit. It is still usable for many small devices, but newer or picky electronics may prefer pure sine power.

  • It can handle laptops, phones, dash cams, rechargeable lights, small fans, Wi‑Fi gear, modems, and similar low-draw electronics. It will not run AC power tools or other high-amp appliances.

  • Yes, it can have enough parasitic draw to kill a battery if left plugged in after the vehicle is off. It is safest to unplug it when parked and use it while driving or with the engine running.

  • The USB ports work, but they are slow compared with the AC outlet. USB-C charging can take hours for a laptop, while the AC plug can charge much faster.

It says "300W", but you actually only get 150W at max from the car's cigarette lighter. So, what is the point for saying 300w here?

It's fine for incidental stuff. Don't expect pure sine wave at that price. Also take the 300w rating with a serious grain of salt. Most car sockets will provide 12v10a max so expect about 120w reliably. Some will go up to 180w at 12v. Check your vehicle manual.
also if you have a small car altenator it can be a strain.

Mine actually goes to 20 amps but that's still not 300 watts even on a good day.

You forgot the conversion efficiency. 120w in is maximum 110w out. (Although 12v is not really accurate either... Fully charged is 12.6v and if the alternator is running probably somewhere around 14.5v)
Actually yes. But none of these cheap inverters I've measured are quite that efficient, and efficiency varies with load. I actually had this exact inverter for testing before I gave it away. 120w in gave me 103.2w out.

Still it is not cleqr to me what type of electric devices I can use with it. Can I use like two lights without issue? Or it just works with lpw wattage devices like phones?
You should easily be able to use two LED lights with it, but I'm asking why you would. You're taking a conversion loss in the inverter and this is an expensive way to run a light when you could just use a flashlight or a rechargable LED camping light.

I use mine for laptops, phones, etc. Dash cams, recharge all my rechargeable lights, small fans, wifi, routers, modems, etc. Toys of all kinds.
The modified sine wave will fast charge all devices if you have the proper wall warts. The newer pure sine wave will work on newer electronics.
The USB ports are very slow to charge devices, even if using fast charge cables. Slow, as in hours to charge my laptop via USB C, vs 25 minutes or so while using the 140a AC plug.
You can't charge these all at once, I'm trying to give you usage ideas.

These will not work for ac power tools, or really anything that needs more amps than a fan. There are other inverters that do that, but not anywhere near this price point.
Also, make sure you're driving while charging devices. These inverters are small but they will kill your battery quick. Even if just plugged in, they have a high parasitic draw.
