You could return the tool, but doing so is risky these days. Home Depot have been banning accounts that return tools on their BOGO deals. A safer option would be to sell the tool locally on Marketplace or Offer Up these days. But yes, this deal is hackable.

This DeWalt starter kit centers on the 9Ah FlexVolt battery and charger, with the free tool making the bundle especially attractive for rotary hammer, router, or grinder buyers. The charger and battery are effectively treated as one SKU, and the charger is said to slow down charging depending on the battery. The offer page can be hard to navigate, but the free tools appear through the shop this offer link under the $229 price. The main caution is that returning the free tool can trigger Home Depot account issues, and some included tools do not get the full FlexVolt Advantage power boost.

  • Concrete drillers who want all-day runtime, because the 9Ah FlexVolt battery can last through a full day of concrete work with a rotary hammer.

    adnjpotato2potato

  • Grinder users who burn through batteries fast, because the FlexVolt battery extends runtime and keeps the tool from bogging down.

    drinkingbirdpotato2potato

  • Buyers who want a fast charger bundled with a high-capacity battery, because the kit centers on the 9Ah FlexVolt battery and charger.

    potato2potatoSplendidReward129

  • Tool flippers who can sell sealed boxes locally, because the impact wrench can move quickly and still leave solid profit.

    Gar03001

  • Users expecting every included tool to get the full FlexVolt Advantage power boost, because some tools only gain extra runtime from the battery.

    drinkingbirddrinkingbird

  • Shoppers who need a simple, no-hassle purchase, because the offer flow can require extra clicks to reveal the free tools and availability.

    wallyworld2015LaserBangtail1964

  • Buyers who plan to return the free tool after splitting the bundle, because returns can trigger account bans on these BOGO deals.

    Taco_Doomsdaydrinkingbird

  • People who need the battery kit more than the free tool, because fulfillment can cancel the battery and leave only the tool charged.

How much would it be if I returned the tool? Is the charger returnable too or is it one SKU w the battery?

It looks like the battery and charger works out to $128.53. Doesn't seem like the charger can be separated.

It depends on the tool, but to get the battery for the cheapest, choose the highest price tools (rotary hammer or trim router). If you want to make some money flipping the to on Facebook Marketplace, pick the 921 atomic impact wrench. It is only $10 less that rotary hammer and router, but will sell quickly and for solid % profit if you sell it as new in the factory-sealed box.

Right under the $229 price you should see "shop this offer" link. Hit that link to see the free tools.

Can confirm, banned. All account access has ceased. I did a single hack like every other year. I didn't do it to flip items on marketplace, just get new tools (I'm amazed how much I've used my ryobi 18v planer).

I created a new account to order some replacement batteries for my ups. I used the same credit card, I can't login to that account anymore after just one order and nothing has ever been returned on that account.

I figure AI linked the accounts as the same because of the address or the credit card (which was used on both accounts).

Can you still do a guest checkout for online orders? Can you still make purchases in store?
