You could return the tool, but doing so is risky these days. Home Depot have been banning accounts that return tools on their BOGO deals. A safer option would be to sell the tool locally on Marketplace or Offer Up these days. But yes, this deal is hackable.

How much would it be if I returned the tool? Is the charger returnable too or is it one SKU w the battery?
Probably a partial refund if returning only the tool.

Right under the $229 price you should see "shop this offer" link. Hit that link to see the free tools.
I have to click on "view full product details" first, then I see the shop this offer.

Will this charge the small 1.8 hr powerstacks at 8amps or does it throttle for the smaller packs?

Sweet. Pulled the trigger on the deal with the router. I think my Dewalt pile is nearly complete. But probably not.

Reduces charging speed based on the battery

Nice deal, but HD is struggling...

I placed this order for the battery kit and compact router for free same say delivery. BTW, there was no option for regular shipping, only same day or store pickup and I didn't feel like driving an hour round trip with my kiddo in tow.

Got notification that it was delivered only to find just the router at my door. Check my emails and they canceled and refunded the battery kit (the thing I actually wanted). So now I've been charged about $120 for the router which I can use, but I really wanted the battery kit far more than the tool.

This was Home Depot's doing so this better not count as me gaming their system.

Now I've got to decide on what to do. Would have been easier had they canceled the whole order so I could try again without needing to sort out a potential physical return.

If they stop doing the Hack, how many would actually buy these tools for fun? LOL. Most of us who buy them aren't contractors, nor do we NEED them. They are good to have, but not neccessary.

I bet you if you do a review on the items you purchase consistantly, they won't ban you.

If they cancelled part of the order and you return the other part because they didn't fulfill the entire order, then you should be fine.

Ain't nobody got time for that! LOL. At this point I don't even bother. I always try to sell my unwanted tools or battery kits. Most time I sell them no problem. For those other times, they just get rolled into my hoard.

I figure AI linked the accounts as the same because of the address or the credit card (which was used on both accounts).
They've used a company called The Retail Equation (TRE) for many years (along with many other large stores like Best Buy). They track returns and cancellations. There is basically 0 recourse once you're banned. The only way to buy after that is to use a credit card you've never used, and purchase in store so you don't have to give any info.

I wouldn't call it "AI", more just a set of thresholds that TRE has tuned over time. One large transaction can do it, as can many smaller ones.

Amazon has their own in house version too.

Sort of annoying that several of the tools are not Flexvolt Advantage. Yes they'll take the flexvolt battery, but won't get the 30% or so power boost from using it, just the extended runtime. Well that is a fact that is hard to verify other than from their marketing materials, in theory it should still perform better than a 20v battery (which is really just an 18v battery) and the increased sustained current that the 60V can deliver.

I need a new grinder (18 year old 18v one finally crapping out) and would definitely jump on this if it was the step up with flexvolt advantage.

It depends on the tool, but to get the battery for the cheapest, choose the highest price tools (rotary hammer or trim router). If you want to make some money flipping the to on Facebook Marketplace, pick the 921 atomic impact wrench. It is only $10 less that rotary hammer and router, but will sell quickly and for solid % profit if you sell it as new in the factory-sealed box.
Any idea the approximate of price you are getting flipping the impact wrench?

It shows that it has special offer, but offers no link to items like it has in the past.
Anyone else getting same.
In past I could see product availability and price for comparison
