Depressingly saves like $0.30. If you only have 2.4 routed to AC, it's demoted to N spec.

No, this brand's travel routers are very locked down across the board. Glinet is much better for that.

I compared a few travel routers and settled on the Beryl 7. Very happy with it. Mainly wanted OpenWRT support.

Everyone talks about this on every router thread. What is the significance?

I have this unit.
Works great as a travel Router.
I also use it for a data only cell service with security cameras in my vacant building.

I have the next step up, AX3000. While not as good of the sale, in my eyes it is more flexible. This model is 9v power requirements, while the AX3000 is just 5v. Less power draw to run longer on a power bank (useful for cruise ships), but also not needing to worry about a specific charger for it or having a spare open slot on a charger I have with me to provide more power, the 5v can work on any random USB port the room may have, like lamps and all that jazz.

I have this unit as well, just used it at a hotel in salt Lake last week, works amazingly and if you are traveling it is a must have to connect all of your devices when traveling. You dont have to sign in with every device plus it adds that one more step in security.

$80 more. Rather pay more and get what I want than settle for what it's lacking.

Question for experts: Travelling for a few months and the building offer free wifi service but it's insecured/no pass required. Can I utilize this to secure my device connection? TIA.
