When recently researching locks I learned just how bad Master locks are. They are easily picked and Master Lock could easily make them more secure.

Thieves ONLY pick padlocks when they need you to think that no one has gained access.

Otherwise, they use a Cordless angle grinder, bolt cutters, or a pair of open ended wrenches .

For instance, no one has EVER had a bike stolen by someone picking the lock.

As an extra layer of dissuasion, these are fine. Obviously they will not stop someone determined. But for applications like protecting gear at an active work site during the day, locking a rooftop carrier while on the road, securing firearms for safety at home or in the field, these mean the difference between someone casually strolling up and quickly grabbing your stuff vs. using tools, which is typically pretty obvious, or taking the time to pick it.
When I bring a big plastic tote bin for HfH volunteer work, with random tools and supplies needed for that day, I can assure you, these easily picked/cut locks have saved many batteries and tools from disappearing.

The original prices on these are insane. I can't imagine paying $40 for 2 of these [homedepot.com].
