It's a solid choice for a Layer 2 web managed switch that supports VLANs, port aggregation, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol for loop detection, etc. while having fans that are quiet enough for a home office (max power consumption 48.632W). The 8 x RJ-45 ports are multi-gigabit ports that support multiple speeds (10G / 5G / 2.5G / 1G / 100M). The 8x SFP+ ports support things like fiber optic transceivers and direct-attach cables. Total non-blocking throughput is 160Gbps, switching capacity 320Gbps.

The closest competitor from a reputable brand is the TRENDnet TEG-7124WS 12-Port 10G Web Smart Switch which sells for $480 right now, and has gone on sale for as low as $430 last year. The TEG-7124WS is fairly similar from a specifications standpoint, but has four fewer SFP+ ports and the web management interface and some of the features will have some minor differences.
