Don't forget the weird quirk of this thing where there is a delay between pressing the button for propulsion and it actually responding.
Or how frequently it doesn't register you hitting the button. Very annoying for propulsion right after moving it backwards. It doesn't register the button push like 30 percent of the time.
If I could go back, I wouldn't have bought this mower.

I've had it for a year. Getting the big 10ah battery is a huge plus if you have other ego products - and you'll need all 10ah if you use the self-propulsion. My only issue with this model is that the mower is very heavy for a battery mower. Maneuverability sucks.

The 800 series w/ trim and blower deal is still kinda available if you don't need the 1000 series. It was a daily deal yesterday but only a $30 price difference to today

I have a 2156sp and have the opportunity to swap to the 2236sp for free due to a deal with a family member.

Should I take the deal, or keep my 2 year old 2156sp that I am happy with?

The two comments so far have me concerned making the choice to upgrade.

A deal with a family member. Nothing official, unfortunately.

Is it possible to return the mower separately from the battery? I remember past Amazon deals let you do this, which made the battery itself a really good deal.

Great mower that I bought with discounted gift cards off Door Dash. I miss my Honda power's power for sure, but I dont have a big yard anymore so this is fine. If I went back to owning 1/3 acre or more I wouldn't get this due to power and more uneven cuts. As somebody already said the delay on the push assistance is delayed so that takes some getting used to. Mine hasn't had issues with registering the push assistance though.

No, this is not a bundle deal the battery and charger come in the box with the mower.

This is a safety Feature not an issue according to Ego. I have gotten used to it with use. I can press, release and repress to engage, or pull the mower backwards slightly. This is by far the biggest nuisance issue with the mower. If you use the included High Lift blades it provided a great cut with no stragglers.

How do you figure out how many acres or sq ft these can do without having to charge again?

I had the 2156 for 4 years. I recently purchased the 2236. There are much less instances of the back right wheel locking up when turning around with the 2236. The 2236 feels sturdier, with the updated handle system. I am getting great runtime on turbo with all the different 10ah batteries I own, not just the new one. I was able to sell my 2156 on marketplace for $400, even after 4 years of ownership. I've been very happy with the new mower.
